Lakeland, FL — 23 teams made the trip to Auburndale Speedway for the 1st Brandon Ford Wheel Man Sportsman race to be held at the 3/8th’s “Bullring” this past Saturday night for their 50 Lap, $1000 to Win Feature.

Jason Vail set fast time and earned the QA1 Fast Qualifier Award in his #407 Vail Chevrolet, but the invert would place him starting back in the 14th position.

The ‘Dale is known for its tough, hard-nose racing, and it lived up to its reputation for the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Sportsman drivers. Local hot-shoe Brandon Morris worked hard for his 5th place finish, and Travis Roland ran an intense, hard-fought race to bring his Deans Tree Service, King Auto Sales Chevrolet across the stripe in 4th.

Joe Winchell lead much of the 50 lap event, but fell back at the end to finish 3rd. Jason Vail knew he had a strong car, and with perhaps one of his best runs of the young 2018 season, worked his way through the field finishing just behind the leader in 2nd.

There was a concentration and determination in the #5 Ten Brink Underground, B&P Leasing team of Devin McLeod that was evident when they pulled through the gate. The event was delayed prior to the feature event due to rain, but McLeod and his team kept their focus together and methodically made his way past, by and through two and three-wide action for his 1st Brandon Ford Wheel Man Sportsman Series win of the 2018 Season.

Winners of the Gagels Auto Parts Tire Giveaway were Brooke Storer, Craig Cuzzone, Brandon Martin and Shawn Jenkins.

The next scheduled event for the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Series is Saturday, March 17th at 417 Southern Speedway in Punta Gorda, FL . For more information about the Brandon Ford Wheel Man Sportsman Series, find us on our Facebook page @WheelManSeries.
