Race22.com Reports 28 UARA Cars On Hand Friday at Hickory
UARA-Stars - 3/12/10
Race22.com is at Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend for live coverage of the UARA-Stars opener. On Friday's practice day, they reported that 28 cars are in attendance so far including a Steve Wallace-owned machine to be driven by Shane Huffman and Jessica Murphy, who will be making her series debut this weekend.
Friday Races at Ocala Speedway Are Rained Out

Due to the extremely wet conditions, and due to the forecasts calling for more rain, Ocala Speedway owner Michael Peters has decided to rain out races scheduled for Friday, March 12.
Racing will return to Ocala Speedway on March 19 as the World of Outlaw Late Models make their debut in a $10,000 to win, 50 lap race. Also on tap is the $1000 to win Hobby Stocks and Mini Stocks.
Friday Races at Concord Speedway Are Rained Out

Friday's INEX Legends and Bandoleros races at Concord Speedway (NC) have been postponed due to rain. Saturday’s forecast is not much better, but, no decision has been reached on that event as yet. No decision on make-up date(s) have been made, but there will not be races on Sunday, March 14th due to several scheduling conflicts.
Rain Doesn't Alter Practice Schedule For Gresham CRA Race

Despite three days of rain, plans are still on for practice to take place later today for this weekend's CRA 125 at Gresham Motorsports Park (GA). Haulers were parked this morning and the scheduled 4pm practice session is still on for the CRA Super Late Models and weekly divisions at the track.
Max Papis Enters Saturday's UARA-Stars Race at Hickory

Former Indycar driver and standout road racer Max Papis has commented that he values as much stock car racing seat time as he makes a home in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. This weekend, he'll be getting that seat time on a short track. Papis is entered in Saturday night's UARA-Stars race at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC).
Monroe Motor Speedway Files Bankruptcy, Racing Might Return

Monroe Motor Speedway has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, which will put a halt to a planned Sheriff's Sale of the track to pay off creditors. That sale was set for next week, but the bankruptcy filing could bring racing back to the track this year. Attorney Bradley Drell has stated that a new board of directors is in place at the track and racing could resume before the start of the 2010 season.
Ruston to Make Super Late Model Debut in PASS Dillon Show

Legends car graduate Kenzie Ruston will make her Super Late Model debut this weekend in the PASS South season opener at Dillion Motor Speedway (SC).
Dustin Delaney To Run ACT Late Model Race at Albany-Saratoga

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver Dustin Delaney is planning to enter the ACT Late Model event on April 25th at Albany-Saratoga Speedway (NY) with the same car that he ran strongly with in the ASA-Type Crate Late Model division at New Smyrna Speedway during Florida Speedweeks in February.
Pro Challenge Graduate Heavner Will Run Full-Time in Pro Cup

14-Year-Old Ryan Heavner will be behind the wheel of the Kirk May-owned #14 Elite Collision Chevrolet for the full 16-race USARacing Pro Cup schedule this year. Heavner, a graduate of the Pro Challenge Series, will compete for the Pro Cup Rookie of the Year title.

Connecticut Racer Dave Zemke Passes Away
People - 3/11/10
Dave Zemke, a winning Sportsman and Street Stock competitor at Connecticut’s Waterford Speedbowl passed-away unexpectedly at the age of 41 on Sunday, March 7. Zemke scored several feature victories while behind the controls of his familiar #17 at Connecticut’s Waterford Speebowl during a career that started in the early 1990’s. He also raced at the Thompson Motor Speedway.
