Choquette, Brooks and TC on Monday Night's 51 Radio Show
Speedweeks / 51 Radio - 2/8/10
Speed 51 Radio will present a special live show tonight New Smyrna Speedway .Ricky Brooks will be stopping by to talk about the Super Late Model race and throw-out of the top five in tech from last night. Jeff Choquette, who won the SLM race Sunday before post-race tech saw him disqualified, will be on the show. Also, Mod champ Ted Christopher will stop by to talk about going for the Tour Mod title here at Smyrna Speedweeks.
Speed 51 Radio will be broadcast live on RaceTalkRadio.com from the track at the Racing Electronics rig just behind pit wall on the front stretch (turn four side). The show will start at 6pm ET.
Colin Reffner to Drive Retro-Themed SLM For Kevin Lang
SLM- 2/8/10
Kevin Lang's Advanced Racing Motorsports team has signed Colin Reffner to drive their Super Late Model this year . Colin is the Grandson of Tom Reffner a Wisconsin Short Track Legend and nephew of ASA Champion and former Nascar Truck Series Standout Bryan Reffner. Colin, who is only 15 years old, won the 2009 Central Wisconsin Super Stock Assoc. Series Championship along with the Marshfield Motor Speedway Championship, second in points at Golden Sands Speedway and 2009 Super Sportsman Track Record holder at LaCrosse Fairground Speedway at Oktoberfest.
Dick Trickle has been consulting this effort over the phone with Lang on building this car and will come to Wisconsin to help coach Reffner this summer. The car will feature the #88 and Speed51.com has been told that it will have a retro 1980's paint scheme honoring "The Blue Knight" Tom Reffner and "The White Knight" Dick Trickle.

Johnny Benson, Jr. to Drive Kyle Busch's Super Late Model?

NASCAR Sprint Cup driver Kyle Busch told NASCAR.com that in addition to trying to put together the sponsorship to run Johnny Benson, Jr. into a third Kyle Busch Motorsports entry in the NASCAR Campign World Truck Series this season, he also plans to run Benson in his Super Late Model this summer.

Speed 51 Radio will be live from the infield at New Smyrna Speedway (FL) on Monday, January 8th, for an hour of news, information and more during the 44th Annual World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. The show will be set up at the Racing Electronics trailer on the turn four side of the front stretch and will feature guests from the track (to be named on Monday). The broadcast can be heard live on RaceTalkRadio.com and also at the track via a scanner on frequency 454.5000, from 6pm - 7pm Eastern.
