Pro All Stars Series Releases 2010 South SLM Division Schedule
PASS South - 11/20/09
The Pro All Stars Series (PASS) released their 2010 South division Super Late Model schedule Friday afternoon. The series will kick off their points championship at Dillon Motor Speedway (SC) on March 12th and 13th and concluding the season at Newport Speedway (TN) in mid-October. There are 12 races scheduled for the South Super Late Models with a note that one more might be added before the beginning of the year.
The January 29th and 30th Winter Fest 150 event PASS recently announced will not be a South division points race, but it will be the first race in the PASS National Super Late Model schedule. The remainder of the National events has not been named at this time. click here for the complete schedule
Planned Noise Ordinance May Affect Two NC Racing Facilities

During its meeting Monday night at the City-County Chambers in Lenoir (NC), the Caldwell County Board of Commissioners scheduled a public hearing for Dec. 7 to consider a proposed noise ordinance. The proposal could impact the operations of two racing facilities in the county – Tri-County Motor Speedway in the Baton community and Antioch Motor Speedway near Gamewell.
According to the proposal, motor racing, testing or practicing would be permitted from March through October on two days per week from Thursday through Saturday. On one of the two days, operations will be permitted from noon to 9 p.m., with the other day allowing operation between noon and 11 p.m. Each violation of the ordinance will result in a $500 civil penalty, payable within 72 hours of citation.
New Smyrna Speedway Gets Geared Up For Governor's Cup

New Smyrna Speedway (FL) has received and confirmed 29 entries for Saturday night's 44th Annual Bright House Networks Florida Governor's Cup Super Late Model race, with at least another 14 entries expected for the event. Toledo Books ASA Late Model North Event For April 17th

Toledo Speedway will open its 2010 racing season with a Late Model doubleheader Saturday, April 17, featuring the ASA North Late Models and the ARCA Gold Cup Late Models. Ron Varney, President of ASA Late Models, will serve as the promoter of the event. The rain date is Sunday afternoon, April 18th.
Jack Smith Headed to the Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway

Part-time ASA Late Model competitor Jack Smith has filed an entry for the Allen Turner Hyundai Snowflake 100 at Five Flags Speedway. Smith called to Speed51.com headquarters this week to say that he will be back in his familiar UB Machine-sponsored #28 for the Snowflake race and has some sponsorship and an over-the-wall crew to bring to a team that can put him in a car for the 42nd Annual Snowball Derby, as well.
Lee East Series Race to Be a Memorial Event For Bunk Sampson?

Speed51.com has learned that plans are underway to make the July 30, 2010 NASCAR Camping World East Series race at Lee USA Speedway (NH) a memorial race to the late Bunk Sampson, who was a former official at Lee before rising through the ranks of racing to become the tour director of what is now called the Camping World East Series.
Sampson, who was very well liked and respected throughout the entire East Coast racing community, passed away in 2002 from a brain tumor. NASCAR has honored his memory by awarding the Bunk Sampson Memorial Award annually at their East Series banquet. The July, 2010 event will be the first East Series race scheduled at Lee since 2004.
Scott Riggs to Run Myrtle Beach 400 LMSC Event This Weekend

Former NASCAR Cup Series regular Scott Riggs will drive the #2 Romeo Guest Construction Late Model Stock Car in this weekend's Myrtle Beach 400 at Myrtle Beach Speedway (SC). Riggs, who was a LMSC standout before moving up to the NASCAR Truck Series, Nationwide Series and Cup Series, tested at Myrtle Beach earlier this week.

Charity Event Will Give Fans a Chance to Drive at Martinsville

Next year, drivers in the NASCAR Camping World East Series, on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour and in Late Model Stock Cars will be able to hit the track at Martinsville Speedway. A new promotion will also allow race fans to do the same thing - whether they drive a Buick or Bugatti.
Race fans will be able to trade toys for a ride around Martinsville Speedway’s historic half-mile track on Saturday, December 12. Martinsville Speedway and the Grace Network are again partnering for the Martinsville Speedway Toy Drive on December 12. The toy drive will run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone donating a new, unwrapped toy or making a $5 cash donation will have the opportunity to drive their personal vehicle around Martinsville Speedway.
