One of the unique aspects of the Snowball Derby are the live pit stops, meaning every second counts on pit road at Five Flags Speedway (FL). Speed51.com is proud to announce that Xcalibur Pit School will present our Xcalibur Pit School Pit Stop coverage during the 51st Annual Snowball Derby.

During the week, Speed51.com will report on the action in the pits, both on our pay-per-view broadcasts and our Trackside Now live coverage.

Many teams along pit road will be employing Xcalibur Pit School teams during the Snowball Derby. Xcalibur Pit School provides the training necessary for aspiring pit crew members to accomplish their dreams of climbing the ranks of ARCA and NASCAR.  Xcalibur Pit School also provides corporate team building experiences and offer a 6,500 square foot indoor pit stop facility available for organized team practices.

The live pit stop format of the Snowball Derby means that even caution periods are pressure-packed, as teams must decide what changes to make and when to make them on pit road. It also means a victory in the prestigious event is a true team effort, with precious time to be gained or lost by the pit crews.

Racing will begin on Wednesday, November 28 as the Pure Stock division will compete for 50 laps around Five Flags Speedway. Wednesday’s program also includes rig parking for Late Model teams, the Green Flag Pit Party following the Pure Stock race, and the qualifying draw for both the Snowflake 100 and the Snowball Derby.

Late Model teams will take to the track for the first time on Thursday, November 29 in their first rounds of practice. Thursday night’s racing program features 50-lap events for the Sportsmen and Outlaw Stock competitors.

The Friday of Snowball Derby weekend is often called the most intense day in short track racing, as Super Late Model drivers compete in qualifying in hopes of securing their spot in Sunday’s field. The Modifieds will also be in action on Friday night in a 75-lap feature.

Saturday, December 1 is jam-packed with racing action. With qualifying for the Pro Late Model Snowflake 100, last chance races for both the Snowflake 100 and Snowball Derby, the Snowflake 100 itself and a 50-lap Pro Truck feature, there is no shortage of excitement for fans at the track.

Finally, the biggest day of the year comes on Sunday, December 2, the day of the 51st Annual Snowball Derby. Pre-race festivities begin at Noon CT, with the class photo at 12:30 p.m. and driver introductions beginning at 1:15 p.m. The green flag will drop on the 51st Annual Snowball Derby at 2:00 p.m.

Race fans unable to attend the 51st Annual Snowball Derby in person will be able to watch a pay-per-view broadcast all week long on Speed51.com, including qualifying night. Five-day video tickets can be purchased now for $74.99 ($35 savings) to watch all of the action. Click here to purchase your video ticket today.
