PERRY, N.Y. — Management of Wyoming County International Speedway, Lias Tire and American Racer Tire are happy to announce the biggest racing event in the 55-year history of our regions motorsport facility will take place on Columbus Day Weekend in October.

On the line for the Modifieds is a $10,000 to win, 100 lap race of ground pounding, short track racing action. The open-wheel asphalt Modified is the ultimate crowd pleasing stock car reaching speeds over 100 mph on the 1/3 mile, semi-banked Perry oval. A lot of work, planning and testing went into place to make this event happen.

A successful tire test at the Bullring was the final step in creating The American 100 the last few weeks. American Racer Tire has been providing competition tires to the SST Modifieds and Super Stocks at WCIS for years and has proven a race tire can be affordable, repeatable and fast.

“Lias Tire and American Racer are very excited about the American 100 at Wyoming County Speedway,” said Scott Junod of American Racer. “Special thanks to the teams that tested with us – Kirk Rutherford and Patrick Emerling. I thought the testing went great and showed we have a very good tire that will provide excellent grip and will repeat. We hope all of the area Modified teams come to the event and see they have an excellent choice in Modified tires.”

Also commenting on the test and results was Fred Woodward of Lias Tire.

“Jim Majchrzak (track owner/promoter) has been working with Lias Tire on the American Racers for many years,” he said. “Working with Jim at Wyoming County to showcase the Modifieds for this race, and beyond, is a great opportunity for us and the racers.”

This event will be utilizing the Tri-Track Modified rules accommodating all asphalt Modified teams from across North America. Tour Modifieds (North & South), ROC/MRS Mods and SK /SST Teams will be able to compete with a variety of rule equalizers on a neutral location. This will allow for a clash of the best Modified teams in the region.

The American 100 will be run on Columbus Day Weekend October 10th and 11th as part of the Shootout at the Bullring. This highly anticipated motorsport spectacular will be a two-day show including the SST Modified 100, Super Stock 50, 6 Cylinders, and 4 Cylinders (TQ Midgets and Vintage Late Models TBD).

Teams are encouraged to pre-register (contact Dakota Packman at (585) 447-3602 or [email protected] to pre-register) for the event and camping is available on site.
