WISCASSET, ME — History will be made this August at the Wiscasset Speedway in Wiscasset, M.E. as the newest touring series on pavement will invade the ⅜ mile high-banked oval when 350 SMAC comes to Maine’s fastest track for the first time ever on Saturday, August 11.
Formed this past winter by New England racer John Burke, 350 ‘SMAC,’ or Supermodified Atlantic Charter, will get the green flag for the first time ever at the Wiscasset Speedway after nearly ten years in the works. 350 SMAC operates under the goal of bringing northeast 350 Supermodified racing to new tracks across the region and Wiscasset Speedway is happy to be a part of Burke’s efforts.
“We’re extremely excited to bring Supermods to Wiscasset Speedway for the first time ever,” said track promoter Ken Minott. “This marks another big step in the resurrection of the track under the ownership of the Jordan family and we’re certain our fans will pack the house. We’re also happy to do our part in helping John Burke get his new series off the ground.”
As of March 12, there are already 23 pre-registered 350 Supermodifieds set to take part in 350 SMAC’s two scheduled events at Wiscasset and a few weeks later, at the Oswego Speedway in New York as part of Budweiser International Classic Weekend.
Already expected in the field at Wiscasset are Star and Lee USA Speedway 350 Supermodified regulars which include Matt Seavey, Dave Helliwell, Joey Scanlon, Bobby Timmons, Tommy Tombarello, and many more.
The Servpro of Biddeford Saco Pro Stocks, Maxwell’s Market Super Streets, Thunder 4 Mini and Cahill Tire 4-Cylinder Pros are all set to join the 500 horsepower winged warriors on what will still remain a signature Wiscasset Speedway $5 admission night. The 350 Supermodifieds are set to compete in a full program which will be capped off with a 35-lap main event.
