What’s on Tap for ULTIMATE Northeast in 2020?

The start of the 2020 season for Northeast ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series is fast approaching as everyone from the teams to officials begin their final preparations. Items on the docket for 2020 include: new tracks, more money, and plenty of exciting opportunities for some great Dirt Late Model racing in the Mid-Atlantic.

The racing schedule is set to feature 13 ULTIMATE Northeast points paying races, along with four bonus races with appearance points across the ULTIMATE family of series. While five tracks across Maryland, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia are returning for 2020, ULTIMATE Northeast will also visit three tracks that are new to the series in Pennsylvania.

Michael’s Mercer Raceway is the first up on May 9, while Latrobe Speedway hosts its first date on July 4 along with two more on July 18 and August 8. Meanwhile, Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex hosts two dates on July 5, plus the season finale on September 20.

The season is set to begin on March 28 at Hagerstown Speedway in Maryland, a race that ULTIMATE Northeast Race Director Rose Compton is eagerly awaiting along with the rest of the staff and the race teams.

“We are looking forward to another exciting season.  Hopefully by adding to the points fund more drivers will take advantage of it and sign up as members,” Compton said.  “Roaring Knob, Latrobe Speedway, and Mercer are all new tracks for the ULTIMATE Northeast. We anticipate great turnouts at not only the new venues but at the returning track on the schedule as well.”

Also back for 2020 is another Maryland track, Greater Cumberland Raceway on April 25 and September 19. A pair of Pennsylvania tracks return, with Path Valley Speedway and Selinsgrove Speedway hosting back to back nights on August 14 and 15 respectively.

The series makes its one trip to West Virginia on May 2, with a $5,000-to-win Topless 50 race, one of two big money races on the schedule. The richest will be in the second and final trip to Hagerstown on July 11, a $7,300-to-win event celebrating Hagerstown’s 73rd racing season.

In addition to an exciting schedule, Speed51 returns as the “Official Video Home of ULTIMATE,” with highlights and recaps of all races on the Speed51 Network, as well as live broadcasts for select events in 2020.

“We appreciate all the work and dedication that Speed51 has done in the past for the ULTIMATE Northeast and are excited to continue the partnership into the 2020 season.  With the live streaming of races, video highlights and interviews, and even pictures; working with Speed51 has been fantastic and a great addition to series.”
