FRIDAY, APRIL 1
USMTS (KS) – Heat races were held Friday night for the USMTS Modifieds at Humboldt Speedway in Kansas for Saturday’s King of American Modified Nationals VI. More than 100 dirt Modifieds were entered into the event that pays $12,000 with at least $1,100 for each starter of the main event.
WoO LM (IL) – Night 1 of the Illini 100 at Farmer City Raceway in Illinois has been postponed from Friday to Saturday. Saturday’s Illini 100 main event has been pushed back to Sunday accordingly.

Ace (NC) – Due to the weather forecast, track officials have cancelled Friday night’s racing action. Racing resumes at the track on April 15.
Anderson (SC) – Rain has called off Friday’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event at South Carolina’s Anderson Motor Speedway.
Five Flags (FL) – Friday’s Open Wheel Madness event at Five Flags Speedway (FL), featuring the Modifieds of Mayhem and the King of the Wing Sprint Cars, has been rained out.
Kingsport (TN) – Kres VanDyke won his first Late Model event of the season at Kingsport Speedway (TN) Friday night over Wayne Hale, Hayden Woods, Zeke Shell and Justin Fontaine.
Lucas Dirt (GA) – South Carolina’s Chris Madden picked up the $10,000 victory in the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event at Boyd’s Speedway (GA) over Randy Weaver, Jared Landers, Scott Bloomquist and Jonathan Davenport.
SMRT (NC) – Friday’s season-opener for the Southern Modified Racing Tour at Tri-County Motor Speedway (NC) has been postponed until July 29 due to rain.
ASCS (NM) – John Carney II picked up his third overall A-Feature victory in 2016, and his second career win with the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region at the Southern New Mexico Speedway in the ASCS Southwest Sprint Car Shootout.
WoO Sprints (CA) – Brad Sweet battled past Logan Schuchart with 13 laps to go and claimed his fourth win of the season Friday night at Ocean Speedway (CA). Schuchart, Jacob Allen, Kerry Madsen and Jason Johnson rounded out the top five.
SATURDAY, APRIL 2
All-Star Sprints (OH) – A late afternoon shower mixed with high winds and additional threatening weather throughout the evening forced Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions and Atomic Speedway officials to reschedule Saturday night’s “Rumble in the Hills” at Atomic Speedway. The event will now be held on Saturday, April 30.
Lebanon I-44 Speedway (MO) – Kyle Donahue won the season opener for the NASCAR Pro Late Model division at the only pavement track in the state of Missouri.
USAC Sprints (IN) – Dave Darland won the USAC National Sprint Car Series race Saturday night at Lawrenceburg Speedway in Indiana.
USAC Midgets (IN) – Rains and cold weather forecasts have conspired to force cancellation of Saturday night’s USAC Midwest Thunder Midget opener at Montpelier Motor Speedway. The series now gears up for an April 16 opener at Montpelier.
USMTS (KS) – Zack VanderBeek out-dueled Rodney Sanders to become King of America in the USMTS Modified Nationals VI at Humboldt Speedway in Kansas Saturday night. WoO LM (IL) – Josh Richards won Saturday’s make-up for Friday’s rained-out Illini 100 prelim feature at Farmer City Raceway (IL). You can watch highlights on DirtonDirt.com (click here for story). Saturday’s regularly-scheduled Illini 100 event was pushed to Sunday accordingly.
Grandview (PA) – Eight-time NASCAR 358 Modified champion Craig VonDohren ducked underneath Duane Howard with the white flag waving to steal the top spot and grab the win Saturday night at Grandview Speedway (PA) in the 30-lap 358 Modified feature.
STSS (NY) – Brett Hearn was DQed for refusing technical inspection after he took the checkers in the Short Track Super Series North opener Saturday at Orange County Fair Speedway. Tommy Meier was declared the winner. (click here for the coverage)
ASCS (TX) – For the fourth time, Aaron Reutzel parked his Dissolvalloy No. 87 in Victory Lane in the Nolan Wren Memorial at the Gator Motorplex with the Griffith Truck and Equipment ASCS Gulf South Region presented by Southern Trailer Works.
CARS Tour (NC) – Saturday’s scheduled season-opener for the CARS Tour Super Late Models and Late Model Stock Cars at Southern National Motorsports Park (NC) has been postponed to Sunday, April 3 due to weather concerns. The series did hold practice on Saturday at the track. It appears Trevor Noles and Dalton Sargeant led Super Late Model testing while Josh Berry and Jeb Burton were the quickest Late Model Stock Cars. Carteret (NC) – Rain has called off Saturday’s season opener at Carteret County Speedway (NC). Further information on a make-up will be announced at later date.
Desoto (FL) – Cody Stickler won the 100-lap Street Stock main event Saturday night at Desoto Speedway in Florida.
Florence (SC) – Averitt Lucas won both Twin-30 features for the Late Model Stock division at South Carolina’s Florence Motor Speedway Saturday.
Greenville-Pickens (SC) – Luke Sorrow beat Taylor Sorrow in the Limited Late Model feature Saturday night at South Carolina’s Grenville-Pickens Speedway.
Hickory (NC) – Jeremy Pelfrey won the Spring Classic 100 during Saturday night’s NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action at Hickory Motor Speedway (NC).
King of the Wing (AL) – Troy DeCaire won the pavement Sprint Car race by more than three seconds at Mobile Int’l Speedway.
Lucas Dirt (AL) – Jonathan Davenport came from third to first in the final three laps and almost went out of the park to pick up the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series $12,000 win in the 60-lap Bama Bash event at East Alabama Motor Speedway. (click here for the story)
MALLM (NC) – The Mid-Atlantic Limited Late Models, as well as the Southern Outlaw Street Stocks, will be in action Saturday at Concord Speedway along with the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour.
Myrtle Beach (SC) – The NWAAS Late Models will have twin features on Autism Awareness Night at South Carolina’s Myrtle Beach Speedway.
Nashville (TN) – Spencer Davis invaded the Pro Late Model scene at the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville in Tennessee and stole the season opening victory.
New Smyrna (FL) – Rain has claimed Saturday’s racing card at New Smyrna Speedway (FL)
NWSMT (NC) – George Brunnhoelzl III won the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour event Saturday at Concord Speedway after a dynamic battle with Ted Christopher. (click here to watch video highlights) (click here for the story)
SEDMS (NC) – David Stremme inherited the lead on lap 16 when Trent Young’s machine broke to capture the Southeast Dirt Modified Series win on the clay of Friendship Motor Speedway in Elkin, North Carolina Saturday. (click here for the coverage)
SELLMS (SC) – The Southeast Limited Late Model Series event scheduled for Saturday at Greenville Pickens Speedway (SC) has been postponed to Saturday, April 23.
USLMS (TN) – Donald McIntosh scored the Ultimate Super Late Model Series victory at Smoky Mountain Speedway (TN) Saturday night.
ASCS (NM) – In a festival of slide jobs at the Southern New Mexico Speedway, El Paso’s John Carney II swept the weekend with the Carlyle Tools ASCS Southwest Region to pocket $5,000 in the 25 lap American Linen and Supply ASCS Southwest Shootout.
Canyon (CA) – Guy Norton stole the spotlight by racing to victory lane in Saturday night’s 25-lap IMCA Modified main event atop the 1/3-mile Canyon Speedway Park clay oval.
Colorado Nat’l (CO) – Jace Hansen fended off Dominic Ursetta to best a 21-car field of Super Late Models for the victory.
Evergreen (WA) – Evergreen Speedway in Washington kicked off its 62nd season of competition this Saturday and Jeff Knight started the year off with a bang by capturing the victory in the Late Model feature.
Irwindale (CA) – Nick Joanides took home the Late Model trophy from the season opener at Irwindale Speedway in California.
KNWest (CA) – Fifteen-year-old Todd Gilliland went from third to first following a late-race restart at Kern County Raceway Park en route to capturing Saturday night’s NAPA Auto Parts 150. It was Gilliland’s second NASCAR K&N Pro Series West win in as many starts this season. More impressively, it was Gilliland’s fourth win in his first four career NASCAR K&N Pro Series starts. Kern (CA) – The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series at Kern County Raceway Park (CA) kicks off Saturday as part of the K&N West event.
Supermodifieds (CA) – AJ Russell won the 360 Supermodified main event Saturday at California’s Madera Speedway.
WoO Sprints – Donny Schatz took his fifth overall World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series win of the season Saturday night by claiming the Mini Gold Cup at Silver Dollar Speedway in California. (click here for story)
SUNDAY, APRIL 3
Cabin Fever – Eddie VanMeter passed Terry Fisher Jr. on the last lap to take the win in the the CRA Late Model Sportsman portion of then Cabin Fever Championships at Lucas Oil Raceway in Indiana. Kyle Purvis won the ICAR Top Speed Modified feature and Jeff Lane won the CRA Street Stock feature. (click here for coverage)
WoO Late Models – Josh Richards scored his ninth win of the season and made history by becoming the first driver to sweep Illini 100 weekend at Farmer City Raceway (IL).

King of the Wing – The Southern Swing for the King of the Wing Sprint Cars finished up Sunday at Alabama’s Montgomery Motor Speedway with Ronald Larson taking the checkered flag.
