While Winter Storm Jonas pounded much of the East Coast with wintry weather conditions this past weekend, there wasn’t a single glimpse of snow or ice during the weekend’s scheduled short track racing events.  Although it may have been a bit chilly at some of the race tracks, the action on the track stayed hot in both Florida and Arizona as a host of drivers added their names to the list of 2016 winners.

Anderson Stays Hot on Cold Florida Night – It was one cold night in Central Florida as the orange blossoms froze over and Cole Anderson once again showed a star-studded field of Super Late Model drivers how to get it done during the Orange Blossom 100 at New Smyrna Speedway.  Anderson, a promising young shoe out of the Anthony Campi Racing stable, topped the local favorites of Stephen Nasse and Anthony Sergi, while teaching the young guns from North Carolina what Florida short track racing is all about.

Clauson Picks Up Two Wins on ‘Circular Insanity Tour’ – Byran Clauson’s “Circular Insanity Tour” made a stop at Canyon Speedway (AZ) this past weekend for the Winter Challenge Series  Sprint Car event.  Competing in three of his anticipated 200 races during the 2016 season, Clauson picked up wins on Friday and Saturday night.

 

Hodges Puts a Stop to Clauson’s Winter Challenge Dominance – Drivers throughout the pit area were hoping to find the answer that would stop Bryan Clauson’s Winter Challenge dominance on Sunday, and at the end of the night it was Josh Hodges acing the test on his way to victory lane at Canyon Speedway.

 

‘Spectacular’ Dutilly Sweeps Triple-50s at Auburndale – Jesse Dutilly’s dominance on the Florida racing season continued this past weekend as he opened up the 2016 season with a trio of victories in the Sunoco Challenge Series season opener.  Speed51.com’s Melissa Strahely has the full story on how Dutilly was able to get it done and sweep the triple 50s.
