For the second time in five days, Mother Nature will be the only victor at New Smyrna Speedway (FL).  Due to a forecast full of rain showers throughout the day, Wednesday’s portion of the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing has been canceled.

According to most weather forecasts, the New Smyrna Beach, Florida area has over a 70% chance of rain all day long.

Wednesday’s marquee event, the John Blewett III Memorial 76 for the Tour-type Modifieds, has been postponed to Thursday, February 23.  Track officials have not yet announced make-up races for any of the other divisions.

Due to the rainout, Thursday’s racing program will now be chalk full of action.  In addition to the rescheduled John Blewett III Memorial, the Pro Late Models will run a pair of twin 30s as a result of Saturday’s rain out. The Super Late Models (35 laps) and Florida Modifieds (30 laps) will also be in competition.
