Angola, IN. – The Broaster Chicken ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour announces a couple of schedule changes affecting the 2015 racing season in the Northern Division. Due to the weather related cancelations that have plagued the 2015 campaign at Auto City Speedway (MI) as well as tough economic times, both ICAR and Auto City officials have mutually agreed to cancel the ICAR North event scheduled for Saturday, July 11th. This event was to be the third race of the year at the Clio, Michigan speed plant. Travis Eddy and Jason Parish have wins there.

In addition, the Saturday, September 19th event scheduled at Springport Motor Speedway will be moved to another facility in the state of Michigan as Springport Officials have also cited weather related cancelations of weekly events as well as tough economic times. ICAR Officials are working diligently to replace the Springport race with another venue within the Great Lakes State. While ICAR Officials will make every effort to keep the date the same for the 2015 ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Northern Division Season Championships, a date change is also possible for this event as well.

“Times are tough right now up in Michigan and all of us at ICAR certainly don’t want to be the reason a track has financial troubles. We wish Joe DeWitte and his staff at Auto City as well as Jeff Parish and his staff at Springport the very best.” Offered ICAR President, Dave Muzzillo. “Hopefully both tracks can get things moving in the right direction and in the future, we can go back to both tracks. We thoroughly enjoy bringing 25-30 plus of the best Modifieds in the Midwest to each track and hope to do so again down the road.” He added.

The first combination race pitting the Northern and Southern Divisions head to head is the next race on the schedule. The fast 3/8s (0.375) mile semi-banked paved oval  of Angola Motorsport Speedway, located just south of the Indiana / Michigan state line and near the ICAR Home Offices in Angola, Indiana will host the Genuine Broaster Chicken 50 Presented by Sweet Leaf Tea on Saturday, July 18th. The Entry Form is now available and due at the ICAR Home Offices by Thursday, July 16th. In the first appearance for ICAR back on June 6th for the Southern Division, Trei Deubel scored the win ahead of Danny Jackson, Bud Adams, Brian Nester and Josh Nester the top five.

The next week, both divisions will head in opposite directions and race at two tracks that have both hosted ICAR only one other time. On Saturday, July 25th the Southern Division will head to the 1/2 (0.500) mile semi-banked paved oval of Sandusky Speedway (OH) in Sandusky, Ohio as part of the prestigious 38th Annual Hy-Miler Nationals for ISMA Supermodifieds. The ICAR Top Speed Modified Tour Southern Division will race in the Genuine Broaster Chicken 50 Presented by Hy-Miler Convenience. In their 2014 appearance at the historic Buckeye State oval, Tyler Shullick took the win ahead of Travis Eddy, Chad Poole, David Dobbins and Kenny Sharp who completed the top five.

The following day, on Sunday, July 26th the Northern Division will head north to the 1/4 (0.250) mile semi-banked paved oval of Spartan Speedway, located south of Lansing in Mason, Michigan for the Brian Heeney Memorial Wild Child 100 Presented by Performance Automotive Northwest. In last year’s appearance at the immaculate Great Lakes State facility, Jordan Pruitt, now a rookie of the year title contender in the ARCA/CRA Super Series, took the win ahead of Travis Eddy, Brian Nester, Dan Loughan and Jim Butler were the top five.  This is the tracks signature event for Modifieds and for the first time, it will be an ICAR event. Entry Forms for both Sandusky & Spartan will be available starting on Friday, July 3rd.
