Wenatchee, Wash. — Officials with Yakima Speedway have announced that the 52nd Annual Yakima Speedway Apple Cup, scheduled for April 6-7, has been postponed to May 11-12 due impending weather.
“I do not want the racers and fans to come spend money and we’re not able to put on a great show,” said Yakima Speedway promoter, Doug Bettarel. “We could let everyone come and take their money but that’s not what I’m about as a promoter or a fan of racing.”
When Apple Cup weekend returns in May the events will still include Saturday’s Qualifying, Trophy Dashes and Heat Races. Sunday May 12 features main events in all classes concluding with the 52nd Annual Apple Cup 125. Ticket and other information can still be found at yakimaspeedway.us
