The roar of Modifieds will be heard around the world this Saturday, July 25 when the Tri-Track Open Modified Series rolls into Star Speedway for the SBM 121. In addition to the crowd that will be on hand in Epping, New Hampshire, fans around the globe will be able to watch the race live on Speed51’s Summer Thunder TV.
The live broadcast on Speed51 will be available to monthly and yearly subscribers at no additional cost. If you’re not already a subscriber, you can sign up today for $9.99 a month or $79.99 a year.
“After a fantastic season opener at Monadnock, we can’t wait to showcase more Tri-Track Modified action this Saturday,” said Speed51 Content Manager Brandon Paul. “The SBM at Star Speedway has become one of the most anticipated Modified races each year in the Northeast. With a strong field of drivers expected to compete, fans at the track and those watching on Speed51 will be in for a show on Saturday night.”
Announced earlier this week, NASCAR Cup Series driver Ryan Preece will be climbing back behind the wheel of his Modified to compete in the race. He’ll be joining a stout field that includes the likes of Matt Hirschman, Craig Lutz, Chase Dowling, Eric Goodale, Woody Pitkat, Ron Silk, Ronnie Williams and many others.
Previously contested as a 125-lap race, this year’s SBM will be 121 laps to recognize the 21st birthday of Tim Webber, the son of track promoter Bobby Webber, Jr.
Speed51’s live broadcast of the SBM 121 will begin with Tri-Track Open Modified Series qualifying heats at approximately 4 p.m. ET. From there, the broadcast will remain live until the final checkered flag is waved.
In addition to the SBM 121 main event, feature races for the Pure Stocks, Street Stocks and Slingshots will also be shown on the live broadcast.
For those in the area, tickets are still available for the event, which will be held with a 50% capacity crowd.
