Watch the Butterball Memorial This Weekend on Speed51.TV

With $20,059 on the line, the Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge Memorial at Richmond Raceway (KY) is the richest race in ULTIMATE Super Late Model racing.  The event will once again be broadcast on Speed51 this Friday and Saturday night, free for Speed51.TV subscribers.

The Butterball Memorial is sanctioned by the ULTIMATE Heart of America region, but draws competition from all of ULTIMATE’s touring series as well as other top Dirt Late Model racers.  Everyone who shows up at Richmond Raceway will have their eyes set on the $20,059 prize awarded to the winner.

The race was originally scheduled for August, but was postponed due to inclement weather.  Friday’s racing will include qualifying and heat races, with big money on the line for competitors during the heat races.  Saturday’s broadcast will include feature racing, including the $20,059-to-win Butterball Memorial.

The race is named in honor of Paul “Butterball” Wooldridge, an inductee in the Kentucky Motorsports Hall of Fame.  Wooldridge was a champion dirt racer, winning races throughout the southeast and Mid-Ohio Valley during his career.  Wooldridge was also one of the original operators of Franklin County Speedway (VA).

Since his passing in 1987, Richmond Raceway has honored his legacy with the Butterball Memorial. Brian Asbury won the inaugural Butterball Memorial in 1988.

Last year, Tyler Carpenter added his name to the list of winners of the prestigious event, collecting the five-digit payday.  This year’s winner will also receive the “Trophy of Legends,” which has been bestowed upon some of the greatest names in Dirt Late Model racing for winning major races in the Ohio Valley.

Race fans can watch both days of action on Speed51.TV, with a monthly or yearly membership to Speed51.TV.  With our new viewing platform, becoming a subscriber and watching races such as the Butterball Memorial is easier than ever before.
