Watch Snowball Derby Drivers Turn Fast Laps This Saturday

The excitement surrounding the 52nd Annual Snowball Derby will be turned up a notch this Saturday as teams make their way to Five Flags Speedway (FL) for the traditional Snowball Derby Preview.  Once again in 2019, the final three hours of the practice day will be streamed live on the Speed51 Network at no additional cost for monthly and yearly subscribers.

With only two weeks remaining until the big race on December 4-8, the Snowball Derby Preview serves as the most reasonable way for teams to gain valuable track time prior to the busy race week.  A full day of practice is scheduled, including an afternoon session with money on the line for the fastest cars in each division.

Speed51 will stream the three-hour dash for cash from 4 p.m. CT to 7 p.m. CT, giving fans the chance to watch drivers put down their fastest laps of the day. The fastest Super Late Model driver will take home $500, while the fast Pro Late Model driver will get $300, and all the fast driver from each other division will receive $200.

Speed51.com’s live broadcast is available free of charge to those who have a Speed51 Network monthly or yearly subscription and will provide a first-hand look at what you can expect for Derby week.  Race fans will be able to watch a multi-camera video stream with audio from the track’s public address system.

For race teams, the Snowball Derby Preview is an affordable chance for teams to see what they’ve got for the big race with pit admission being only $20 with no track rental fee. In addition, full tire, fuel, and technical inspection services will be available throughout the day.

For those in the area, grandstands at Five Flags Speedway will be open to all fans free of charge.

Racing for the 52nd Annual Snowball Derby begins on Thursday, December 5, with the WCIParts.com Pro Trucks, the Dock of Pensacola Beach Sportsmen and the Lloyd’s Glass Pure Stocks competing in their Snowball Derby feature events after the first rounds of practice for Super Late Model and Pro Late Model teams.

Friday, December 6 presents one of the most dramatic and intense days in short track racing, with Snowball Derby teams competing for a spot in Sunday’s race on Country Pleasin’ Sausage Pole Night.  The Modifieds of Mayhem Tour 75-lap season finale follows qualifying.

Saturday is an action-packed day of racing, featuring the Snowball Derby last chance race, the Allen Turner Snowflake 100 for Pro Late Models and a 50-lap feature for the Faith Chapel Outlaws.

Finally, Sunday, December 8 brings the most prestigious event in Super Late Model racing, the Snowball Derby.  Pre-race festivities begin at noon, with driver introductions at 1:15 p.m.  At 2:00 p.m., the Snowball Derby begins, starting the 300-lap battle to see who will join the record books as a winner of the marquee event.

The best Super Late Model racers in the country will take the green flag at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday, December 8 for 300 laps of racing in the 52nd Annual Snowball Derby. Speed51 will have race fans covered with flag-to-flag coverage until the Tom Dawson Trophy is delivered to the winner in victory lane.
