Less than one week after Vinnie Miller graduated from Brandon High School in Ortonville, Michigan, the 17 year old will make his CARS Series debut in the No. 5M Master Mfg. Wauters Motorsports car at Tri County Motor Speedway Friday, June 12, 2015.
Veteran NASCAR crew chief and team owner, Richie Wauters will direct the young driver on the 4/10 mile banked asphalt track in Hudson, NC.
Miller has a background in Pro Late Model racing in his native Michigan but has been testing the SLM car for the past month as part Wauters Motorsports Driver Development program. Miller will compete in at least 13 events with Wauters Motorsports in the CARS, PASS and Southern Super Series’.
“I’m excited for my first race in the super late model car,” Vinnie Miller said. “Richie (Wauters) has been working with me closely and telling me I’m getting more consistent. Spencer (Wauters) has been really assisting me in learning each track we test at and will be with me during the open test Thursday, helping me learn the lines of Tri County Speedway. I’m hoping that I can show the team what I’ve learned so far by bringing home a solid finish.”
The LeftturnsandSunburns.com 200 Presented by CCC&TI CARS Series super late model race is slated for Friday, June 12, 2015. Grandstands open at 4:00pm with racing action beginning at 7:00pm.
