The big guns of the USS Alabama will welcome ARCA drivers, teams and fans for the first official stop of the 2015 ARCA Mobile 200 race weekend. On Thursday March 12th ARCA teams will have their cars and haulers on display from 4:00-6:00PM with a driver autograph session from 5:00-6:00 in the Aircraft Pavilion (entrance to the Aviation Pavilion will be at no charge during ARCA event). In addition to the ARCA cars & drivers the Mobile International Speedway Track Champions have been invited to bring their Championship Cars and become part of the autograph session.

“We’re coming up on our 50th anniversary and in 50 years hosting the ARCA cars and drivers is one of the most unique events we hold at the Battleship,” said Bill Tunnell, Executive Director of USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park. “The ARCA event has gotten so big we are extending our hours on the Battleship so fans can have time to take it all in.”

The ARCA Mobile 200 has not only put Mobile on the map of motorsports in the United States, it has rapidly become one of the most highly anticipated stops on the ARCA Series tour. “Our race teams, fans, sponsors, officials and the entire ARCA community have made Mobile a ‘must attend’ destination on the tour,” said ARCA President Ron Drager. “Enjoying the climate and the hospitality the region offers has solidly established Mobile as the logical 2nd race of the season after Daytona now for the 4th straight year. It’s an added bonus to have the opportunity to visit and take part in this event at the USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, in honor of our veterans and active US Armed Forces personnel. Our drivers will have an autograph session, the Official ARCA Racing Series Transporter will be on display and available to tour, and we’ll again participate in the Hauler Parade to Mobile Int’l Speedway at the end of the day.”

“Two years ago we brought the ARCA cars to the USS Alabama for the first time and the fan response was incredible. Last year the crowd mushroomed again and the Aviation Pavilion was packed with cars, teams and fans,” said ARCA Mobile 200 promoter Tommy Praytor. “The USS Alabama is one Alabama’s biggest tourist attractions and we take a lot of pride in their being a part of the ARCA Mobile 200.”

After the autograph session, Mobile County Sheriff Deputies will lead the ARCA haulers from the Battleship in a Hauler Parade to Mobile International Speedway to prepare for Friday’s on track activities.
