Holland, N.Y. – Race of Champions Asphlat Modified Series partner, Upstate Auto Group is proud to present the Thunder in the Hills 100 on the high-banks of the Holland (N.Y.) International Speedway on Saturday, July 22.
The 100-lap event is a highly anticipated event for many racers that participate on the Race of Champions Asphalt Modified Series. Holland has several current and alumni represented throughout the field including George Skora from Eden, N.Y.; Tommy Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., Amy Catalano of Ontario, N.Y., Danny Knoll, Jr., of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Cam Barber of Bliss, N.Y., Scott Wylie of Blasdell, N.Y., and defending Series Champion Patrick Emerling of Orchard Park, N.Y., who won the race last season.
“Holland is a fun place to race,” offered Patrick Emerling. “It has multiple grooves and we get around there pretty good. You have to be patient and not use up your tires too early. It’s going to be another fun night and we are looking forward to it. The Series is very competitive and it will be interesting to see what happens.”
Emerling is currently the Series Championship point leader, but to date, he has visited victory lane only once at Spencer Speedway in Williamson, N.Y., in June.
“We have been working hard and some of the breaks have not gone our way, but we’ve been fast,” Emerling continued. “This Series has some great talent and you’ve got to be on your game each week. We’ve had new and different winners this year. Holland will be very competitive.”
