ULTIMATE Supers Gearing Up for Big Weekend in Virginia

The ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series has a big weekend on tap, with two races and up to $25,000 up for grabs on Friday and Saturday, May 14-15 in Virginia.

The ULTIMATE Supers will go to Natural Bridge Speedway for the first time in series history on Friday before making the trip to Virginia Motor Speedway on Saturday.  Friday’s race will pay $5,000 to win, while Saturday’s King of the Commonwealth at Virginia will pay $20,000 to the winner.

$25,000 will be on the line for ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series competitors this week during a doubleheader weekend at Natural Bridge Speedway and Virginia Motor Speedway.

That chance at a big payday has drawn plenty of stout competitors to Virginia for the weekend.  25 drivers have entered Saturday’s King of the Commonwealth, with more than 20 of those drivers planning to compete in both ULTIMATE races this weekend.  Chris Ferguson will be gunning for the $20,000 on Saturday at Virginia Motor Speedway, while racers such as Brandon Overton, Ross Bailes, Zack Mitchell and Mason Ziegler will be doing double-duty this weekend.

Of course, the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series regulars will also be taking part in the doubleheader weekend.  The series has crowned five different winners in its first five races, and will have two chances to continue that trend this weekend.

ULTIMATE has seen five different winners in its first five races in 2021, with Dustin Mitchell, Brandon Overton, Zack Mitchell, Cla Knight and Anthony Sanders going to victory lane.

Anthony Sanders now leads the ULTIMATE Super Late Model Series points standings after his first career Super Late Model win, taking the checkered flag in dramatic fashion at the Big Chief Forty at Cherokee Speedway.  Dustin Mitchell, winner of the season opener at Lake View Motor Speedway, sits second in points, followed by Matthew Nance, Jeff Smith and Lancaster Motor Speedway winner Cla Knight.
