The long-awaited start of the 2020 ULTIMATE Northeast Super Late Model Series season will take place Saturday, June 13 at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (PA). After several series events were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the series will finally get back on track with a 40 lap, $3,000-to-win feature event next weekend.
“We are looking forward to getting back to racing,” said ULTIMATE Northeast Race Director Rose Compton. “After months of sitting idle due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s a great feeling to be able to move forward with events. I’m extremely excited to hold an event for drivers and fans.”
Roaring Knob was originally planned to host its first ever ULTIMATE Northeast event later in 2020. However, with the track’s ability to contest other racing events thus far during the reopening of the economy, the Markleysburg, Pennsylvania venue provided an option for the ULTIMATE Northeast series to get back racing.
“Roaring Knob wasn’t originally on the schedule for a June event, but we worked it out with Rick Jones the owner/promoter to kick off our season. This will be our first ever visit to the track. Hopefully many fans will be able to join us for this race.”
Earlier in the 2020 season, ULTIMATE Northeast events at Hagerstown Speedway (MD), Greater Cumberland Raceway (MD), Tyler County Speedway (WV) and Michaels Mercer Raceway (PA) were postponed.
In 2019, Jared Miley won his second ULTIMATE Northeast championship in as many seasons, with two wins and nine top-10 finishes in 10 races.
