The ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series added a historic dirt racing venue to its 2019 schedule, as the series will visit Florence Speedway (KY) for a $5,000-to-win feature on June 22 as part of Mountaineer Dirt Week.
Florence Speedway, a half-mile clay oval located in Union, Kentucky, plays host each season to marquee Dirt Late Model events such as the North/South 100 and the Ralph Latham Memorial. Now, it will be joining the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Series schedule in just the series’ second full season of operation.
ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Race Director Robbie Cyrus is ecstatic about the addition to his series’ schedule.
“[Florence Promoter] Josh King and I talked and got it on the schedule for the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series,” Cyrus told Speed51. “We’re excited to be going there. It’s our first time going there, $5,000 to win, $400 to start show.
“We’re just excited to go there with them,” Cyrus added. “It’s exciting to be at a legendary track like that, and we’re expecting a strong field for that kind of money.”
The Florence race will be the second race of the weekend for the series, which will compete on June 21 at I-77 Speedway in Ripley, West Virginia before making the trip to the famed Kentucky venue. It will also mark the first time the ULTIMATE Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series has visited the state of Kentucky.
