Seekonk, Mass. – Gary Sagar and Kraze Korlacki Speed Equipment have announced, a 2nd annual U.S. Pro Stock/Super Late Model National Championship Race has been scheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at Seekonk Speedway, Seekonk, Massachusetts.
Sagar stated the success of the race, the exciting last lap win, and the positive feedback from both fans and competitors alike, made the decision easy to go forward and to again pay a purse to include $10,000 being awarded the winner of next years race.
Sagar is quick to point out last months race had all the ingredients to make it a success. “I have to give a lot of the credit to the marketing that went behind it, certainly the participants, the staff, and a special notation to my chief technical director, Jeffrey Zuidema who did an outstanding job and received nothing but accolades from all the competitors.”
Sagar says the plan is to come back with the same format (200-laps) in 2017.
“I have reached out to all the competitors and they all said they would like to see it remain the same. Certainly would like to see more cars and fans. We have already spoken with teams from the south that are interested in coming back or giving the race a first time try.” Sagar stated.
One driver who was a major player in the first event was Hudson, NH’s Joey Pole until an engine fire forced him to the sidelines.
“We really enjoyed it. It was an awesome race and it was cool to be a part of the first one. Seekonk has always been a track that I really like and when we saw that one on the schedule we circled it and wanted to be there.
The announcement there will be another day to try and grab the 10-grand to win money pleases Pole.
“I think it’s great they are bringing it back. The first one is the toughest because no one knows what to expect and I know it had a lot of attention. I think next year it will have more cars and more top teams. It pays a lot of money. Exited to see it’s coming back and you can definitely count us in on it.” Pole concluded.
The race promoter encourages input from competitors and fans and wishes to receive input. Please send e-mail to [email protected]
