LAS VEGAS – The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway will pay tribute to one of its fallen stars at the Chris Trickle Classic on Saturday night.
LVMS will honor the life of Chris Trickle – a former Bullring and NASCAR racer who passed away in 1998 after a still unsolved drive-by shooting – with a pair of NASCAR Super Late Models features and a pre-race autograph session on the track on the special evening. Trickle’s family will be involved in Opening Ceremonies before the 10-race slate begins with the first NASCAR Super Late Model race.
Chris Clyne will be looking to continue his hot streak that has included wins in seven of the last nine NASCAR Super Late Model races, and he will face off against a talented and deep field of drivers. NASCAR Super Stocks driver Sam Jacks looks to extend his winning streak to eight races, while USLCI Bandolero Bandits upstart Hank Hall will be going for five in a row in that division.
In addition, Vinny Raucci Jr. (NASCAR Bombers) and Jaron Giannini (USLCI Legends) enter Saturday’s action with two-race winning streaks. Nine of The Bullring’s 10 divisions will be on the track throughout the night, with the NASCAR 602 Modifieds division running a 35-lap feature and the Jr. Late Models lining up for a 30-lap race.
The Chris Trickle Classic is the final event before the highly anticipated Night of Fire on Wednesday, July 3, that will include a Figure 8 Trailer Race through the track’s infield and a post-event fireworks extravaganza.
Spectators can purchase tickets by calling 800-644-4444 or going online at LVMS.com, and all children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. The Bullring concession stand offers great prices, including $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beers.
