Just about every race track in the Northeast has finished their season and is gearing up for the 2016 campaign to start.  So what’s a Modified fan supposed to do?  Well, there’s still one race weekend left, and Speed51.com powered by JEGS will be there to cover all of the action.


260 51 network adTurkey Derby XLII (42) at New Jersey’s high-banked Wall Stadium Speedway takes place this Friday and Saturday, November 27-28.  Sportsman Modifieds, SK Modifieds, and of course the mighty Tour-type Modifieds will all race this weekend, in addition to other divisions as well.


Speed51.com will offer it’s unique Trackside Now coverage on Friday and Saturday from Wall Stadium Speedway, and also will have highlights from the weekend as well on the Speed51 Network.


The Tour-type Modified field is always a strong one at the Turkey Derby, and this year is no exception.


Three-time NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Doug Coby, 2013 NWMT champion Ryan Preece, multi-time Turkey Derby winner and Race of Champions Tour champion Matt Hirschman, local favorite and multi-time Turkey Derby winner Jimmy Blewett, and defending winner Eric Mauriello are all expected to compete in the wild 150-lap feature on Saturday.


The SK/Wall Modified feature also is expected to have a strong field as well.  Hirschman is expected to pull double-duty like usual, as is Mauriello and Blewett.  Wall Stadium Speedway regulars Steven Reed and Chas Okerson will be tough to beat as well.


Cars will take to the high-banked 3/8-mile oval on Friday morning for practice beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET.  Racing action on Friday will begin at 2 p.m. ET.  Racing will begin on Saturday at 1 p.m. ET.
