PORTAGE, Wis. – For the second consecutive season Slinger Speedway will play host to the final round of TUNDRA Super Late Model Series action. Round Eight Powered by Wisconsin Potatoes will determine TUNDRA’s fourth Champion this Sunday afternoon.

Dalton Zehr leads the charge into Slinger with a 36-point lead over Ty Majeski. Both drivers competed earlier this season in the prestigious Slinger Nationals. Majeski admits he learned a lot of what “not to do,” while Zehr scurried to a fifth-place finish. However, Zehr was competing in a different race car. He’ll be looking to pilot his familiar red 119 to a title Sunday.

Several Slinger Champions will be standing in the way of the TUNDRA regulars, just as they were last year. Lowell Bennett and Conrad Morgan have a combined 13 titles and several feature wins this season. Both drivers were a force in last year’s event at Slinger.

Other drivers with Slinger ties include James Swan, who won four features at Slinger last season and placed on the podium in the TUNDRA race, Chris Blawat, Chris Ratajczyk and Randy Schuler and Ryan Farrell.

Making her return to TUNDRA action will be 2013 Dean’s Satellite Rookie of the Year Paige Decker. Decker, who has been competing in the NASCAR Drive For Diversity program this summer, made an appearance in this year’s Slinger Nationals. She will have help and advice from the team of Steve Apel, who has won back-to-back titles at Slinger.

Several TUNDRA drivers will have some momentum coming off strong runs in the Bruce Mueller Memorial last Sunday. Travis Dassow finished second (for the second consecutive week), Michael Bilderback was third and Dennis Prunty looked to be the strongest of the field before tangling with Morgan about midway through the race.

Round Eight Powered by Wisconsin Potatoes has fan gates scheduled to open at noon, qualifying set for 12:30 and racing beginning at 2 p.m. TUNDRA will be joined by the Slinger Late Models, Midwest Sportsmen, Area Sportsmen, Slinger Bees and Figure 8s which will crown their Champions, as well.

Slinger Speedway is located off of Hwy 41 and Highway 144 at 280 Cedar Creek Road, Slinger Wisconsin 53086. For more information visit www.slingersuperspeedway.com.
