For the first time since 2012, a night of racing at the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing has been postponed due to weather.  With rain in the area on Tuesday afternoon and showers expected to continue throughout the night, New Smyrna Speedway (FL) officials made the decision shortly after 2 p.m. ET to pull the plug on the racing program.  That has set up a racing card for Wednesday that includes nearly 400 laps of green-flag racing.

Tuesday’s racing was scheduled to feature Pro Late Models, Super Late Models and the final leg of the American-Canadian Tour American Racer Challenge.

According to ACT officials, a poll was taken by the team’s in attendance and the majority decided they wanted to stay in Florida another night before making the trip back north.  The 100-lap ACT feature is now scheduled to see the green flag wave at 7:30 p.m. ET on Wednesday.

Racing is scheduled to resume at New Smyrna Speedway on Wednesday with practice beginning at 2 p.m. ET.  Joining the ACT Late Models will be the Pro Late Models and Super Late Models, who will both run double 35-lap features.  Florida Modifieds will compete in a special 75-lap feature, while the Tour-Type Modifieds will compete in the prestigious John Blewett III Memorial.

Fans not able to get to the track on Wednesday night are encouraged to tune into the FansChoice.TV powered by broadcast of the action beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Teams in the area searching for something to do during the rain on Tuesday can head on over to Pub 44 located at 1889 State Road 44 in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.  The restaurant will be showing a replay of the FansChoice.TV powered by broadcast of Monday night’s racing action at New Smryna Speedway.  It will be a great opportunity for fans, teams and drivers to enjoy some great food and enjoy last night’s broadcast.
