6:44

Since Chase Elliott is in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West race at Phoenix International Raceway tomorrow, his crew chief Ricky Turner has been practicing the car today and was presumably being cautious as to keep the car in good condition (not that he wasn't one of the best late model drivers of recent memory), but Chase will have to start in the back regardless because of the driver change that will take place.

New face on the late model circuit. He competed in some Southern Superstars Short Track Series races this season but that's the first time he's hit our radar.

We have corrected the results and would like to point out that it was the #29 of Andy Loden that was fifth in the overall Super Late Model times, not Allen Karnes.

3:07

Thanks. You are correct, we took this straight from the track's live timing and scoring. Will get it fixed immediately.

2:56

Casey runs a lot in AL because unfortunately TX Late Model racing has been down of late. He frequently runs in Texas when there's a solid late model series like the ROMCO or TSRS used to be.

2:56

Comment From Pete I thought Casey lived in Alabama - Runs there alot

2:53

An interesting note, as many drivers put on new sticker tires in the final round of Super Late Model practice, Bubba Pollard has been on the same tires all day today as well as all practice sessions yesterday here at GMP and was still third in the final round and fourth overall throughout all sessions.

2:52

Casey Smith hails from Austin, Texas.

2:52

Comment From Pete Where is Casey Smith from?

2:52

Colt James will be in the #71 Jimmy Doyle SLM machine for the World Crown, race officials have confirmed. James started practicing the #71 halfway through today and apparently earned a shot to drive the machine in the race. He will also be in the familiar #15 for the PLM event.

Trucks are on the track for their first practice today.

2:25

Casey Smith still atop the board with five minutes left in the final round of Super Late Model practice for the day.

It doesn't appear so as he hasn't participated in any of the practice sessions since we reported the issue.

2:25

Comment From John Gunther Did you ever hear if Teddy Musgrave got his engine problems fixed. I think that is a brand new car for him.

2:24

Bubba Pollard's lap has now fallen to third as Daniel Hemric has posted a 16.476-second lap which moves him up to the second spot.

2:22

Theriault is currently 8th in this practice with 8 minutes remaining.

2:22

Comment From MaineRaceFan How's Austin Theriault in this last practice run?

2:21

2:21

Comment From GUEST We would like to see a new comer do great.

2:20

Of course, having a Jimmy Carter in Georgia is a popular decision round these parts.

1:56

Jimmy Carter is an Ohio native who has most of his career experience in the Main Event Racing Series, where's he a multiple winner. He got back into the traditional late models this year with a JEGS Tour win at Columbus and three TBRA victories.
