The first practice is in the books here at the Hickory Motor Speedway (NC). We will stand down for a lunch break. Speeds will be coming shortly.

1:35

Alex Yontz, Brennan Poole, Kyle Grissom, Paddy Rodenbeck, Matt DiBenedetto and Clint King are the six former winners in the field here today. The rest of the group will be going for their first win today at Hickory.

1:29

Today’s race looks like an old version of the Summer Shootout run at the Charlotte Motor speedway (NC). Guys like Chad Finchum, Harrison Rhodes, Ronnie Bassett Jr, and several others cut their teeth on the quarter-mile oval. Just about everyone in the field did some form of Legend and or Bandolero racing prior to running UARA. Today the track is slightly bigger, and cars have tons more horsepower.

1:22

We have just over 10 minutes to go in the first practice. We will have the speeds from the first round a few minutes after that.

12:41

Last year the UARA-Strars had 16 races and Brennan Poole won six races on his way to finishing second in the series points last year.  He will be in the number 7 here today.
