If you cause the caution, you will go to the rear. That either means the person who started the contact, or the driver who went around. The only time you will get your spot back in CRA is if you spin to avoid a wreck happening in front of you and that is a judgement call.

Why didn’t Bubba Pollard get his spot back after Nemechek spun him?, wasn’t his fault as he was leading

6:35
As for Chase Elliott…

“Unfortunately we had a right front go down after the first half. That was the worst possible time to have a tire go down. We only had one set of tires, and we had a lot of laps on the practice tires we needed to strap on [to replace the flat]. So we swapped the good fresh tire onto the right front and put the old one on the right rear. We got a little help there; I would have rather have beaten them straight up. But I don’t think I could have beat them unless we were on equal tires. I found something there in the last few laps but they were still getting away a little. I would have liked to have it go green the whole way so I didn’t have to have an excuse, but we’ll take it.”

6:33
#8 – John Hunter Nemechek

“I got my nose up to his left rear tire and he cut down. And I guess the race officials up in the tower said I got into the back of him. Everyone there who watched the replay clearly states that I was underneath him. It’s kind of a B.S. talk, but we’ll talk [with CRA] about it and see what we can resolve.

6:31
#26 – Bubba Pollard

“I just got turned around out there. It’s part of racing I guess. We talked about it. We both went down in the corner hard there and I suppose he just got into us. We had a great car today and made some awesome adjustments, but I just hate it for my guys. They worked hard, all for the team. We were in position to win – that’s all we can do.”

6:28
Regarding the contact that sent Pollard spinning after Nemechek got into him, after the race Nemechek confronted Pollard in the pits, feeling as though Pollard chopped him off. Pollard understandably, wasn’t thrilled either. Things were a bit heated, but like racer’s often do, they cooled off a little before giving us their thoughts.

RACE PROCEDURE:
Both races will count caution laps up until 25 laps to go. So green flag laps only will count after lap 175 for the Super Late Model feature and lap 100 for the Pro Late Model feature.
There will be no tire changes in the Pro Late Model feature except for approved flats.
There will be a halfway break on lap 100 for the Super Late Model feature. At that time, teams can change up to four tires. Drivers will then come back on to the track based on the number of tires they took. So drivers who did not change tires will line up front of those who changed 2, who will be followed by those who took 4.
