We caught up with race winner Donnie Wilson after all the excitement.

“I’m speechless,” said Wilson after being handed the guitar that is traditionally given to winners of events at the Nashville fairgrounds track. We all don’t like to win it like that, but with as many as I’ve lost lately, I’ll take it. It’s a bad deal. John Hunter’s going to win a lot of races. He’s a great talent. I’m just glad to finally win a race.”

This is the first win for Wilson since 2005 in a Super Late Model.

just wanted to comment before I leave home that I am very thankful for all you guys do to keep us informed when we can not attend these events thank you very much

Talking to some of the drivers over the last couple of days, the big thing on their mind is not just going fast around the Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville but also conserving their tires to the finish. This is a six-tire race tonight, but the track is one that likes to eat up the tires which is to the driver’s liking. Drivers like having a tire that wears down during the race, making the strategy interesting and the racing great.
