Goodnight from a stormy capital of Alabama!

7:54

Earlier this year, Montgomery Motor Speedway (AL) announced there would be a Super Late Model race at the half-mile off of Old Selma Road in Montgomery, Alabama. The race, scheduled for September 1st and 2nd, is the first Super Late Model race at the track in over two years. The 150-lap spectacle will feature a six-tire rule, and pay $6,000.00 to the winner.

Now, as the date gets closer, excitement starts to build. Entry forms are now available, and entries have begun to come in for the race. Drivers get your entries in now as the qualifying will take place in the opposite order of entries received. Fans, mark your calendars for September 1st and 2nd for the 150-lap Super Late Model extravaganza at Montgomery. For more information, visitwww.montgomeryspeedway.com

In case you missed it, Augie Grill will make a start in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Iowa Speedway next month.

From earlier this week on our Quick News section presented by Phantom:

Alabama's Augie Grill, a two-time Snowball Derby Champion, will compete in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series American Ethanol 200 presented by Hy-Vee on September 15th at Iowa Speedway. The Late Model veteran will compete in the No. 4 NCWTS entry out of the Turner Motorsports stable. Grill recently tested the truck at Gresham Motorsports Park (GA) in anticipation for his Iowa Truck Series debut.

5:37

Country music artist Wesley Dennis is performing on the front stretch right now. Time trials are scheduled to roll off in 40 mins.

5:29

Time trials were moved to 6:15 in case a scattered shower passes through earlier. Boswell did not want the teams to use a set of tires to time trial, then not be able to use them for the race.

5:27

New MMS general manager Paul Boswell called a driver's meetings, and told the drivers that time trials will take place at 6:15, not 5:15. The rain is expected to get here around 8-8:30. The Pro Late Model race will run first tonight in order to get the event in.

5:24

Sorry for the delay. We are fighting some internet issues.
