8:35
We’re now back green at GMP in the Truck race.  Brian Huff has taken the lead on the restart and now leads Britney Finley who has moved to second.  Bill Hoose runs third and Kristen Wallace fourth.
8:34
The crowd is pretty darn good here at GMP tonight.  It’s getting pretty brisk now that the sun’s gone down, but the folks around the Jefferson, GA area love their short track racing and it shows with the turnout here tonight.
8:34
Comment From Dave

Thanks for the coverage! How is the crowd there?

8:26
Yellow: Lap 13 of the Truck race.  Aaron Calvert blew up in a big plume of smoke in turn three and spun his #01 Truck.  Branden Franklin couldn’t avoid Calvert and hit Calvert and then the inside wall.  We’re going red here at GMP for an extensive cleanup.
8:19
Caution: Lap 11 of the Truck race.  Kevin Vasser spun in turn four.  Top five: Hoose, Finley, Huff, Wallace, Parris.

Lap 13 and we’re under yellow in the Mini Stock race.  Spanky Hicks was, well, spanking the field tonight, but his car slowed on the track to bring out the yellow.  That puts Steve Hill in the top spot with 12 laps to go.

Talk about a good night for sponsor relations, Casey Roderick earned the Monolith Pole Award tonight at GMP for the Monolith Companies 100 feature.  Of course, Roderick’s #51 is sponsored by Monolith.  For those who are wondering, Monolith is a company that specializes in interior design and renovation for hotels.

Many of us at GMP wondered the same thing.  Russell is not here tonight, nor is he down at South Alabama Speedway for tonight’s Viper PLM race.  If we were to venture a guess, we’d say he’s over at Lanier National Speedway in Braselton, GA tonight with his daughter, who is racing a Bandolero at Lanier this season.

One driver that was here earlier that will not compete in tonight’s qualifying or race session is Jeremy Mullinax, who spun and hit the wall during practice earlier today.  Mullinax has loaded his car up and the back of the trailer is sealed shut.
6:21
The winner of tonight’s Pro Late Model feature will earn a guaranteed starting spot into the PLM portion of the World Crown 300 weekend, November 12-14th.  The Pro Late Models will run 125 laps on Saturday the 13th this year.  The PLMs were the headline division for the 300-lap feature last season, but this year Super Late Models will run in the big 300-lapper on Sunday the 14th.
6:04
Qualifying for tonight’s Pro Late Model feature is set to begin in about 12 minutes.  All cars have passed through pre-qualifying tech and we’re just waiting for things to pick up here at GMP.
5:55
There were 19 USARacing Pro Cup teams that took time during qualifying today at New Smyrna Speedway.  Clay Rogers set fast time in time trials, followed by JP Morgan, Caleb Holman, Brandon Ward and John Gibson.  One car did not take time, Tom Powers, Jr.Trevor Farbo, for the third time in three attempts to make his Pro Cup debut, blew a motor in practice.  Ronnie Souders and Jeff Agnew also had engine problems in practice.

Jody Trivett set fast time by about three tenths of a second in the Renegades over Mike Childers.  Brian Beckner, Vernon Hicks and jeremy Dills rounded out the top-five.
5:16
Spanky Hicks was about a half-second faster than the second-fastest Mini Stock, Steve Hill, in the practice/qualifying session.  Ken Candiotti, Sr., Jody Trivett and Bill George rounded out the top-five…actually, those were the only five to take time during the Mini Stock session.
5:10
Mike Davidson was quickest in Outlaw Late Model practice/qualifying buy about two-and-a-half-tenths of a second over Brian Hardman.  Terry Martin, David Murphy and Jason Bates rounded out the top-five.
5:05
The Pro Late Models are going through pre-qualifying technical inspection as we speak.  Chase Elliott and Nick Potts were the first two to go through the line.
4:59
Britney Finley has set time in the Trucks, followed by Bill Hoose, Kristen Wallace, Brian Huff and Joel Townsend.
4:51
Mike Childers set fast time in the first Renegade practice session.  The Trucks are back on the track for their second round.  This is the round that will set the field for tonight’s feature.
4:45
Tonight’s Pro Late Model feature will be 100 green flag laps.  After qualifying, the top undetermined amount of cars will be taken to tech.  From that point, all cars will be impounded by head GMP tech man Micky Cain.  Before the race begins, teams will be given 10 minutes to complete any necessary adjustments to the cars with the exception of changing tires. The top six qualifiers will then re-draw for their starting positions.  Once the race begins, there will not be any tire changes allowed except for flats.
4:40
Steve Hill was the quickest of the four Mini Stocks that took to the track in their first practice round.  The Renegades are on track now.

Where are all the cars?We have done a little research about the missing Pro Late Models we would expect to see here at GMP. We have 20 cars here today and there are 11 at South Alabama Speedway for the Viper Series. We know that Bubba Pollard went to the Viper Race along with Tony Clark, both Georgia drivers. We also know that there were 10 Pro Late Models last night at Five Flags Speedway, most of which will go to Mobile International Speedway for tonight’s event. Concord Speedway is racing today and they have 10 or so in their first Pro Late Model event of the season.

We know that guy like Jason Hogan, Russell Fleeman, Paul Kelley, David Hole and others live in the area and for one reason or another. So there are Pro Late Models around the area. Nevertheless we have a talented field here today at GMP.

4:13
Last time Late Models hit Gresham Motorsports Park, it was a CRA-sanctioned Super Late Model event on March 13th.  TJ Reaid was there that day driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports.  Today, Reaid is back in his family-owned #41 PLM, but his crew chief last season and again this year at KBM Chris Gabehart is here turning wrenches on the Reaid #41.  Reaid will be competing in the family car several more times in addition to several more races here at GMP and beyond in the KBM #51, including next Saturday night’s Orange Blossom Special PASS South race at Orange County Speedway (NC).
