We should be starting qualifying here in a few minutes.
6:01
There is a lot of cloud cover over Greenville-Pickens Speedway, but according to the weather radar, there isn’t any rain in the area.
5:58
A total of 30 cars hit the track for the scuff session.  We are not printing times from that as it was a scuff session, not a true practice session.  For instance, Chase Elliott, who was fast in practice earlier, had a fast lap over 17 seconds slower than the previous session.  For those that would like to know, Jody Lavender was the fastest during the scuff session with a 20.415 second lap.
5:53
There are 32 PASS South Super Late Model cars here.  They will start 28.  Essentially the top 20 drivers in qualifying will be locked into the show.  The remainder of the drivers will race a 15-lap last chance race with the top-six drivers transferring into the feature.  There are also two provisional spots, rounding out the 28-car field. While the top-20 qualifiers are locked into the show, the top 10 are not locked into their spots.  The top 10 drivers will redraw for their starting position during the pit party.
5:51
In the driver’s meeting, there weren’t too many additional news items.  It was stressed though that on the PASS website, there are notes about severe penalties for messing with tires at the track.
5:49
The driver’s meeting has concluded, as well as the local practice.  Qualifying is up next here at GPS.We will have live qualifying here on Trackside Now.  As the drivers put their laps up on the board, we will post them, driver by driver.
5:12
We will be back at the keys after the driver’s meeting.
5:11
The scuff session has completed.  The Legacy Series has a practice next, followed by the PASS driver’s meeting and local practice before the time trials start at 6pm.

Loden has done well for RE Suspension in the last few weeks. He also has taken Hamke Race Cars and Hamner Racing Engines to victory lane along the way. It’s a good time to be involved with the yellow 29.

Comment From RES

Good luck to Andy Loden and all the RE Suspension customers! Sorry we couldn’t be there tonight!

4:24
Tonight’s race will not be on RaceTalkRadio.com. Our next Speed 51 Radio Broadcast will be on July 17th at the Gresham Motorsports Park (GA) for a CRA Southern Six Pack event.
4:23
Comment From hoss

is the race going to be on RTR?

4:22
Andy Loden is the hot story at this point in PASS South. The multi-time Hickory Motor Speedway track champion has raddled off three-straight wins. Tonight he goes for a fourth-straight win which would be a record for PASS Super Late Model racing. Even if he gets the job done tonight Johnny Clark will have a shot at four in a row in tomorrow night at Canaan Fair Speedway (NH). To make things more interesting, Loden has NEVER raced on this track.
