Pollard’s #26 is still sitting in his pit and has not lined up with the other cars for the last chance race so I would assume he’s not going to make an attempt.

Is Pollard in the last chance race?

Cody Humphries has won the Legends Young Lions/Semi Pro race over Timmy Hill in second.

Lonnie Sommerville was involved in an altercation with Bubba Pollard in his consolation race and didn’t make it up to the transfer spot. It looks like he’s lined up to take his shot at the last chance race.

Besides the great racing action, kids are being treated to an Easter Egg Hunt and an autograph session with all the drivers in the starting line-up. Green flag for feature racing is slated to begin at approx. 7pm.

The cars have lined up for the first consolation race.

Wanna see a PASS race for free? You can do that when the Pro All Stars Series travels to Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, NC on Saturday, April 24th. All you need to do is go to www.proallstarsseries.com and print off the free ticket coupon for the 150 lap Super Late Model race.

We’ve been getting a lot of comments from you asking about what’s going to happen in the last chance races. PASS Officials are still tabulating and we should have a line-up for you soon.

We’ve got a few notes for you from the driver’s meeting. There aren’t many changes from the usual procedures of a PASS event.Cautions will not count, the race will be 150 green flag laps.

The flagman starts the rafe, not the leader, and there will be a $500 fine to anyone who jumps the start. The same fine applies to the leader should he or she brake check on a restart.

Due to the fact that we’ve got 50 car field we will have 3 consolation races here today. The first two will have 10 cars a piece and the last one will have nine.

Should PASS Officials see the need, there may be a B-Main for the cars who do not make the event.

The car that Tony Jackson is driving was purchased from Tom McCann Jr. Its amazing what a little funding would have done-always knew the car was fast!

The driver’s meeting is scheduled to begin in about 15 minutes, so we’re headed down into the infield to check out what’s going on and get some stories from the drivers. We’ll be back in just a few minutes with more news.In the meantime, the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East cars are just about to go green at South Boston Speedway in Virginia…Speed51.com’s Elgin Traylor and Matthew Dillner are at SoBo and providing live Trackside Now coverage from that race and the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour race tonight. Open up another browser window and check it out.

We also chatted with Ryan Lawler, a former Easter Bunny 150 winner, earlier in the day. Lawler is reunited with chassis builder Robert Hamke and is driving the Hamke Race Cars house car here today. Lawler and Hamke saw much success several years ago, including the team’s PASS South championship season of 2007.Lawler reported that his car is fast, but the handle is not quite there yet. Lawler has been near the top of the speed charts so far today, so it may be a dangerous combination should the handle return to Lawler’s #74 car.
2:03
Earlier in the day, we caught up with Kenzie Ruston’s #39 team and they are running on adrenaline at this point today, not sleep. After searching for some speed in practice yesterday, the team loaded up and headed back to their Mooresville, NC shop to diagnose the problems and burned the midnight oil getting the #39 car back up to snuff.
1:59
We’ve had several requests for some more information on the driver that set fast time in the first session, Tony Jackson, Jr. NASCAR Camping World Truck Series fans may recognize the name, as Jackson made his first Truck start last weekend at Martinsville for SS Greenlight Rcaing, but the Missouri native is a veteran of asphalt and dirt Late Model and Modified racing in the Midwest. While Jackson is a part of SS Greenlight’s Truck Program, Bobby Dotter’s Late mdoel development team is focused here tonight on Joey Gase’s #08 machine with short track legend Butch Miller serving as Gase’s crew chief.

Let’s Go Andy Loden!!!!

There are a few fans already sprinkled throughout the grandstands right now so I would venture to say they are currently open.

Can you please tell me what time the grandstands open ? Doesn’t say on event schedule hms.com ?

There will only be two other divisions racing with us here at Hickory tonight besides the PASS South Super Late Models. Legends and Bandoleros will both run their features before the Super Late Models tonight. The Legends cars are now on the track for their second round of practice.
1:32
The second of three Super Late Model practice has now ended. There were no on-track incidents. We hope to have times provided by PASS South Officials shortly.

Per the entry blank, here is how tonight’s field will be set: 26 cars will qualify for the feature event, the top 20 through time trials, the last 6 through a “Last Chance Race”. There will be 2 provisionals based on South points. There will be 1 provisional from the North based on highest points from 2009 season, if needed. The promoters reserve the right to add additional starting positions.

We’ve had many fans ask the same question, but unfortunately there will be no RTR coverage here tonight. We’d love to be covering it on RTR tonight, but we invite everyone to follow along with Speed51.com’s Trackside Now coverage all day and night. The next RaceTalkRadio.com Speed 51 Radio presentation will be next Friday and Saturday nights as we bring you live coverage of the Gulf Coast Championship Series events, beginning with the Pepsi Max 100 Blizzard Series event Friday night at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, FL, followed by the Miller LIte Series 100-lapper Saturday night at Mobile International Speedway in Alabama.

How many cars get in on time…How many out of Last Chance Race

1:12
We’ve definitely got a stout field of PASS Super Late Models here at Hickory today.
1:12
Comment From Derek

Heading to the track in about an hour or so. This may be the best field of SLMs anywhere in the country other than the Derby this year.

Beware Johnny Clark and Brad Leighton guys…….and of course, Ben Rowe. I am picking Johnny Clark to represent Maine with a big win.

Ronnie Sanders is not here this weekend. He is recovering well but wasn’t quite feeling up to the ride from the metro-Atlanta area up here to Hickory. He is planning to make it to the Blizzard and Miller Lite Series events on the Gulf Coast next weekend.

Is Ronnie there with Bubba? How has he been feeling?

The first round of Super Late Model Practice has concluded and the legends and bandolero cars are each about to take the track for 10 minute practice sessions. Super Late Models will be back on track for their second round of practice at 1pm ET.
12:39
Bubba Pollard has left his usual circuit of racetracks to come to Hickory Motor Speedway this weekend for the PASS South Easter Bunny 150. Pollard has also stepped back into his own Super Late Model for this race. He is back in his family-owned #26 for the first time since he rolled at the World Crown 300 at Gresham Motorsports Park in November. Since then he’s been running the #18 Pro and Super Late Models owned by short track veteran Ronnie Sanders.

Super Job Speed51….Thanks for being there (and SoBo too).

12:28
The caution is out again for a spin out of turn four by the #39 of Kenzie Ruston. Ruston didn’t hit anything and was able to pull away under her own power.
12:25
We haven’t seen Pollard on the track yet but we will post the times from this round of practice as soon as they become available.
12:25

How is Bubba Pollard doing in practice or has he even been out yet

Congrats to KBM on their first Truck Series victory – hope they can find room for the trophy after all of their Super Late Model wins. Good luck to Max Papis today.

We’re under caution here in the first round of practice as David Quackenbush has gone for a spin in turns three and four.

Most of the cars here today participated in the practice sessions offered yesterday. NASCAR Sprint Cup Series regular David Ragan came out to join the fun yesterday and unfortunately hit the turn three wall. He has made it back here to race with us today though. And he won’t be the only driver representing the Cup side on the track today, we will have Max Papis competing in a Kyle Busch Motorsports entry.
