Lap 35: YELLOW FLAG: Zane Zeiner spins off the bumper of Scott Hensley.
5:43
Lap 34: Blaney has a good lead on Kenseth and Futlz. Barndt and Kochnash
5:42

5:41
Lap 28: Jeff Fultz is now working on Ross Kenseth for second.
5:40
Nate Caruth has come back out to make some laps.
5:40
Matt Barndt is up to fourth after starting on the tail.
5:40
Lap 25: Ryan Blaney leads Ross Kenseth now and Jeff Fultz.
5:39
Chase Elliott admitted fault for the incident into turn three with Bubba Pollard. That's about all we were able to find out before a crew member shooed us away from Chase. Pollard told us that he wasn't sure what exactly happened, but said Elliott came down the track and there just wasn't enough room.
5:39
GREEN FLAG: We are back underway.
5:39
One lap to green.
5:39
We are on Lap 24 now back under yellow running pace laps.
5:38

Comment From Mark

Go Fultzy!

5:35
Running Oder: Blaney, Fultz, Kenseth - after that we are not sure just yet.
5:31
The front stretch melee.
5:30
This race has just been shortened to 50 laps. We are under red at lap 24.
5:27
All drivers are ok from what have been told and can see.
5:26
Heavy damage to Pollard's car (Speed51.com Photo)
5:26
David Russell took a head on shot into the wall. He is ok and he is blaming the non-shifting restarts. CRA has a rule starting in 2011 that the leaders and all cars can not shift on the restarts. Someone checked up in the lead group and cuased this mess.
5:25
We are under a RED flag now after this mess.
5:24
We had a mess coming to the green. Grant Davidson, David Russell, Nate Caruth, Jimmy Weller, and Randy Gentry all wrecked coming to the line.
5:22
Crossing over now getting set to go back to green.
5:21
We are not sure what this means for the south title. The Fultz/Hemric effort could become a champion. CRA is working on this.
5:21
Zane Zeiner comes to pit road under yellow. (Speed51.com Photo)
5:20
Now Pollard's car is coming in on the hook.
5:20
Elliott's car is coming in on the hook.

Pollard climbs out of his car. (Speed51.com Photo)
5:19
Top Five: Ryan Blaney, Jeff Fultz, Ross Kenseth, Scott Hensley and David Russell.
5:18
Not sure what happened to cause this one. Elliott and Pollard were door-to-door going into the turn and the two made contact ending their days.
5:17
Elliott got up on his side in turn three after the mess. Pollard and Elliott are ok.
5:16

4:42

Quickie yellow as Gervais pitted and came back to the tail of the field.

what happened to zeiner in the sk

4:37
YELLOW FLAG Lap 26:  Michael Gervais has spun again in turn two.  Robert "Bud" Ellis, Jr. clipped his right-front tire on the outside wall for a second time today and appears to have finished the car off this time.
4:35
HALFWAY Lap 25:  Pitkat, Hirschma, Zeiner, Preece, Pitkat, Rocco
4:35
Lap 23:  Preece tried the outside of Hirschman in turn one, but got up into the "weepers" and lost third to Zane Zeiner.
4:35
GREEN FLAG:  Great start for Hirschman, but Pitkat gets the preffered groove through the first corner and keeps the lead.
4:34
The field is doubled back up.  Double file restart.  Pitkat will be on the inside with Hirschman on the outside of the front row.
4:33
Gervais brought his car to pit road and the crew is making a slight adjustment to the left-side tire pressures.
4:32
YELLOW Lap 19:  Michael Gervais has spun out of fourth by himself.
4:31
Lap 15:  Single file throughout the field except for a battle for eighth.  Johnny Sutton has the spot, but Earl Paules wants it.  Sutton is hanging on to the spot.
4:30
Lap 13:  Pitkat leads now by five carlengths.  Then it's Hirschman, Preece, Gervais, Rocco, Fuller, Zeiner, Kurzejewski
4:30

Earl Paules just blew a left-front tire under the pace laps.  It appears it came right off the bead.  He's coming to pit road as the field runs behind the pace car.

The track just had a moment of silence for Charles Kepley who first put on this North-South Modified Shootout. He passed away earlier this season and didn't get to see this event in it's ninth year. Today's race is in honor of him and John Blewett III, a racer who passed away a few years ago after a wreck in a tour race at Thompson Int'l Speedway (CT).

Comment From Tony Hirschman Jr.

Make sure you boys have good coverage of the pedal car race today - my daughter Mia is running it! I'm following from the spotters stand here at Texas Motor Speedway.

1:22
It looks like we are making a change to the time trial order. The CRA Super Series will be up first. Stand by for more information.

Watching Trackside Now from Texas Motor Speedway - keep up the good work boys. I know Matt Kenseth is watching from TX as well. Sounds like it will be some good racing there tonight despite lower car counts than normal for the prestigous event.

The call has been made for SK Modifieds, the first division out, to line up for qualifying.

Good luck to all the drivers.

Notes from CRA driver's meeting:
It's a 100 lap race, yellows do not count.
- Double-file restarts
- Free pass will be in effect
- No shifting on restarts
- There will be an invert from three to eight after time trials.
12:54
There was a vocal surge amongst drivers, led by Matt Hirschman, at the end of the Modified drivers meeting for no heat races tonight. Hirschman and others said that because the schedule is already two hours behind and because it is going to be quite cold later tonight, not running heats will just speed things up for the fans that much more. The cries of the teams were heard by officials and the call has been made for no Modified heats.
12:54
Notes from the Tour-Type Modified driver's meeting: - It is mandatory to pit any time after lap 30. Teams must at least jack the car up even if they don't plan to change tires. - Only two new tires can be changed during the race. Only approved flats may be changed aside from those new tires, but a replacement for a flat has to be a stuffed tire. - Double-file restarts throughout the race. - At two laps to go on each restart, a "Lucky Dog" will be awarded. - Initial start will be controlled by the flagman. - On restarts, the leader can fire anywhere between two white lines in turn four. If the leader does not fire by the time he reaches the second white line, the flagman will throw the green flag then. - Only green flag laps are scored and will count, so you can not lose a lap in the pits. - If the caution comes out in the last 10 laps, lead lap cars will move to the front for the restart. - If the caution comes out after the white flag comes out, there will only be one attempt at a green-white-checkered restart. - All cars will make the race. The top-10 in time trials will be locked into the field, while the rest will go to heats.

There is a change in the schedule as it appears the Tour-Type Modifieds will get one final round of practice after the Legends Cars.

The Legends Cars are now out for their European-style qualifying round.

While that Legends practice is on track, the Modifieds and Super Late Models are scheduled to have their drivers' meetings. We'll be at both and will have all the news in a bit.
11:49
There are just a few minutes left in SK Modified practice, which will conclude the majority of practice today. After this, there is scheduled to be a Legends Car practice, which is also their qualifying. How they time during the practice will determine where they start in their feature.

We would like to extend a special hello to our friends and family in the northeast who are still suffering the affects from last weeks storm in New England. Some fans, race teams and even our friends at The Chrome Horn (Jim, Denise and Howie) were unable to make the trip to Caraway. We'll keep them all in our thoughts and prayers and some STILL do not have power back on a week after the storm.
