7:35

The cars who were on track of hot laps have not made it back to their respective garage areas and all the Limited Late Models have made it to the grid. We are rolling with the Limiteds on the track for their warm-up laps.

7:32

Three cars are currently out for hot laps right now, including the No. 66 Florida Modified of Jerry Symons.

7:27

The field was smaller than expected for the Florida Modifieds, thus the race was shortened from 50 to 35 laps.

Why they shorten the Mod race?

6:32

Our live race broadcast will begin at 7:30pm ET.  We’ll provide a direct link to the broadcast closer to show time.

6:31

Comment From Davey Sweet

what time will we be able to listen to the race?

6:30

Also, we checked in with a few folks in the meeting about the Jimmy Blewett situation.  James Civali told Speed51.com that Blewett had a six o’clock flight to get down to New Smyrna.  We also asked some of the TS Haulers crew and several of their team members said Blewett would be here driving the #0 TS Tour-Type Modified tonight.

If we hear or see any more about “Showtime” being on the premises, we’ll pass it along.

6:28

Today’s driver’s meeting centralized around a theft that happened in the pit area last night.  Someone here at the track broke into SK Modified driver Gary Fountain’s race hauler and stole three firesuits out of it.  Fountain stood up in the driver’s meeting and said that he would not prosecute anyone who came forward with the stolen property because all he wants are his firesuits back.

6:19

Jimmy Blewett has not taken part in practice and he did not attempt to qualify for tonight’s John Blewett, III Memorial for the Tour-type Modifieds. There are a few back-up cars, like those of George Brunnhoelzl, III or Ron Silk, that he could possibly drive, but we don’t think that is very likely to take place.

6:17

Comment From skippy

jimmy blewett? whats the latest on him, race pro weekly put it on there website that showtime was racing tonite

6:16

There have been a few questions about when certain features are running tonight. If you scroll down to the start of today’s Trackside Now coverage, you can find the entire schedule for today and see exactly what will take place when.

6:14

Speed51.com has learned directly from Ricky Brooks that Jason Boyd was disqualified from Tuesday night’s Limited Late Model victory due to an unapproved camshaft as well as evidence that the seals on his engine was tampered with.

6:10

We’ve just gotten confirmation that Super Late Model driver Wayne Anderson has left the track to rescale the car and work on the setup.

6:04

Wayne did not take time in qualifying.  We believe he’s just practicing to prepare for tomorrow night’s 50-lapper and Saturday night’s 100-lapper.

Isn’t Maryeve Dufault driving that Zach Germain car? I thought she was supposed to be driving it at this point this week?

2:45

The Crate Late Models are out on the track practicing right now. Two new additions to the division today are Kenzie Ruston and Drew Brannon. Meanwhile, you can subtract the car of Joe Winchell from your scorecard. He wrecked hard last night and has withdrawn his entry as a result.

2:43

It is a little overcast here today at New Smyrna Speedway and rained here earlier today. There doesn’t appear to be a threat of rain here right now though and the chance of showers tonight is only in the 20% range, so racing should take place as schedule. The rest of the week looks clear – with highs around the 80 degree mark.
