Restarts were one topic that perked everyone’s ears tonight in the drivers meeting. The rule still remains that the leader starts the race and can fire in the box between the middle of turn four and the line just off four. We will keep a close eye on this because it raised some issues last night and earlier in the week.

Comment From Thompson SK

What is up with the SK time trials? are the sand bagging so when the feild is inverted for the start they get the pole? Brooks should suprise them and line them up by a draw of the hat.

The ACT Practice session is now completed. We will have lap times for you as they become available.

4:18

The ACT Late Models run the ACT Tour, the Quebec-based ACT Castrol Edge Series and at several local tracks in the New England and Eastern Canadian areas. They have eight-inch Goodyear tires and crate GM or Ford engines as well as spec Koni shocks. They are cost effective, but also slower than a Pro Late Model/Crate Late Model. They have been very well suited to the New Smyrna track however as keeping up momentum has been a challenge to the drivers that has produced some great racing.

4:16

Comment From Bones

Can you guys explain what the ATC Late Models are compared to our Florida Late Modle Divisions.

4:06

The ACT Late Models are now out for another practice session.

3:57

That’s our good friend Mark Keeler. He does a lot here at New Smyrna for the media and the track. He’s a hard worker who has been with us just about every hour this week.

3:56

Comment From Jack

Who is the local track announcer? He”s good & makes the races sound very exiting. Do you have any info on him?

3:54

The 60 of Chad Atkins is taking part in this practice as well. The 60 looks a lot like the 33 that Jeff Choquette drove here last year at Speedweeks. The car is out of the Gary Fountain shop and Atkins is pumped up for later this week when he gets to race it. the car might be the same one that won the 100 lapper at the end of Speedweeks last year.
