We talked to Ben Ashline earlier this morning about his first race back since shoulder surgery.

Ashline told us that he just recently got the OK from doctors and his team began making the changes to his car to bring it up to current ACT standards with the new shock program.

After yesterday's practice session Ashline said his shoulder was a bit sore but he told us that he's very excited to be back in the drivers seat.

The ARCA CRA Super Series first solo points event of 2014 will take place on Saturday, April 26th at Anderson Speedway in Anderson, Indiana. As reported earlier this month on Speed51.com, Nick Sweet will be teaming up with Jean-Paul Cyr and Eric Chase to compete for the 2014 ACT owners championship.

Sweet is in the team's brand new Late Model for the season-opening event. He told us earlier that they've had some struggles with the car during practice, but that is expected with a new car and they've made consistent progress.

One of the problems the team had was with the fuel pump. Sweet told Speed51.comthat there was water in the fuel during yesterday's practice forcing the team to replace the fuel pump.

Speed51.com spoke with Maine driver Jeff White earlier today. He is debuting a brand new ACT Late Model here at Lee USA Speedway this weekend. The car was built by Distance Racing Products and former Oxford Plains Speedway champion Jeff Taylor.

He tells us that the team struggled a little bit yesterday during practice battling an issue with the front brakes.

White also tells us that he has full intentions to run the full nine race ACT schedule this season.
