Ryan Preece has won the 40-lap SK Modified feature over Chris Matthews, Ted Christopher, Dan Avery and Glen Reen. 
Glen Reen has now moved up to fifth in his SK Modified debut.

Ryan Preece maintained his lead on the restart while Chris Matthews moved up to second place.

Matt Gallo has driven back to the pits with heavy right front damage. Frank Ruocco has a flat tire, but not much else as far as obvious damage. 
Gallo and Ruocco were battling for third at the time of the incident. 
This is the eighth caution of the event and we are only at lap 34. 
Frank Ruocco and Matt Gallo have gotten together in turn two. The caution is out at lap 34. 
Eric Berndt is now off the pace. 
Lap 30 – Ryan Preece is extending his lead over Ted Christopher. 
Matt Gallo is now up to third. 
Mark Makaj is being black-flagged for a tire rub. 
Lap 26 – Ryan Preece and Ted Christopher have pulled away from the field. 
This time, we stayed green. 
Tom Bolles has spun on the backstretch. 
Matt Gallo and Frank Ruocco are battling for fourth. 
Restart – Ryan Preece leads again. 
Nicole Morgillo was just interviewed by the track crew and she cited contact with Adam Skowyra as the reason for her spin. 
Michael Gervais got turned around in turn two to bring out that caution. John Montesanto was also involved in the incident. Both cars drove away, although Gervais needed a push start to get going again. 
The caution is out again. 
Restart – Once again, Ryan Preece leads. 
Lap 23 – Nicole Morgillo spun in turn four and came across the track in front of Woody Pitkat. The two cars made hard contact and Morgillo’s car is now dumping coolant on the track. 
Restart – Ryan Preece still leads. 
The caution is out at lap 22. 
Caution – Vinny Anglace has hit the wall in turn two to bring out the caution. This allowed Keith Rocco to stay on the lead lap. 
Keith Rocco is about to go a lap down. 
Lap 22 – Eric Berndt made a runner at Ted Christopher for second place, but Christopher maintains the lead. 
Restart – Ryan Preece continues to lead. 
Mark Bakaj and Woody Pitkat are among those who pitted under caution. 
Keith Rocco is pitting again. He is having steering issues with his car. 
Caution – Lap 21 – Brad Hietala has spun, but drove away from the incident. 
A packed house here at Stafford. Not a seat left to be found.
Halfway (20 laps) – Ryan Preece leads Ted Christopher, Eric Berndt and Chris Matthews. 
Ryan Preece is running away with the lead as we approach 20 laps. 
Bo Gunning has spun on the frontstretch, but he got it pointed in the right direction and no caution came out. 
Eric Berndt now runs second with Ted Christopher settling into third. 
Lap 14 – Ryan Preece has taken over the lead. 
Restart – Ted Christopher appears to have missed a shift and dropped back to third on that restart. Eric Berndt now leads.

Currently, Ted Christopher leads Eric Berdt, Chris Matthews, Ryan Preece and Frank Ruocco. 
Vinny Anglace has spun his #95 SK Modified to bring out the caution on lap 13. 
Lap 12 – Ted Christopher continues to lead the SK Modified feature. 
Keith Rocco is also pitting under caution.

Jeff Malave has also made a pair of pit stops. He had clutch problems yesterday. 
Brian Sullivan has pitted under caution for a fuel leak, but he is back on the track. 
Heather DesRochers has been towed off the track. 
On the first lap of the SK Modified race, the caution came out for a incident in turn four involving Nicole Morgillo and Heather DesRochers. 
The SK Modifieds are now out for their pace laps. They will do battle for 40 laps.
How many of today’s drivers will be “drafted” as part of the 2011 Speed51.com Short Track Draft, Presented by Hedman Husler Hedders? The top draft pick will be announced this Thursday, May 5th, at 5pm ET on Speed51.com.Ryan Preece, Justin Bonsignore, James Civali, Rowan Pennink and more that will compete in today’s WMT feature are all eligible to be “drafted” this year, so who will have a good performance and maybe raise their stock for the draft? We’ll find out later today.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour teams are back at their trailers making final preparations to the cars in advance of this afternoon’s feature. The track’s NASCAR Whelen All American Series divisions, the SK Modifieds and Late Models, will hit the track first at 1pm ET.The SK’s will be the first feature.

In the time since the first NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour season opener with the Icebreaker at Thompson Motor Speedway, Ted Christopher has been keeping busy by running a pair of NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour shows at South Boston Speedway (VA) and Caraway Speedway (NC). Christopher won both events in Joe Brady’s #00 car. 
Stafford Motor Speedway’’s 2011 NASCAR Whelen All-American Series season kicked off with its first three feature events of the new year during Saturday’s CARQUEST Tech-Net Spring Sizzler Weekend. Joey Cipriano won the 20-lap SK Light Modified feature, George Nocera, Jr. won the 20-lap Limited Late Model feature event, and Kyle Casagrande took the checkered flag in the 15-lap DARE Stock feature event. 
Last night, several drivers in the field for today’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race headed north to New Hampshire’s Monadnock Speedway to take part in the second race on the 2011 Valenti Modified Racing Series schedule. MRS regular Les Hinckley won in that close event over Louie Mechalides and Jon McKennedy. Rowan Pennink was the highest finishing “double duty” driver, finishing in seventh while Eric Goodale finished 13th. Max Zachem, who will be turning wrenches on Eric Beers’ WMT entry today finished 18th as a driver.

Ryan Preece will start shotgun on the field today after failing to take a lap in qualifying yesterday for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The oil pump belt broke right before qualifying on Preece’s car and that failure kept him off the track.
