Comment From Guest

thank you speed for all of your awesome coverage.

2:16
Comment From Brian

@ Guest: Speed still hasn’t shown the Modified race from Martinsville yet, so I would guess it is going to be a few weeks yet before they air the race.

2:15
Ryan Newman has shot into the lead.
2:15
Andy Seuss has pulled down pit road as the field went back to green.
2:15
The lights are off on the pace car and there will be a restart on lap 83.
2:14
LW Miller has just chased down and ran into Andy Seuss under caution. Miller actually got airborne after launching off Seuss’ car and both cars might be damaged now.
2:14
At this point, as we get into crunch time on the race finish, we are not going to be able to answer any questions as to where particular drivers are scored. Thank you for understanding.
2:13
Comment From Mike Harnish

As always great job speed 51!

2:13
LW Miller did not suffer any damage from his spin, A replay shows that there may have been contact between him and Andy Seuss to start the spin. Seuss kept pointed forward after the incident and is scored in 11th.
2:12
LW Miller has just gone for a solo spin to bring out the caution at lap 80.
2:12
It is dark, but not raining yet. So for now, we are safe but that could change at any minute.
2:12
Comment From Guest

does it look like they will get it in?

2:11
Ronnie Silk has rocketed to a strong lead on the restart. We are at lap 79.
2:11
Just outside the top 10 are Eric Beers, Woody Pitkat and LW Miller.

WHERE IS JAMES W CIVALI.??

1:58
Doug Coby is listed as the current leader over Ted Christopher, Bobby Santos, Ryan Newman, Ryan Preece, Eric Goodale, Ronnie Silk, Andy Seuss, Eric Beers and James Civali.
1:57
The replay shows that Chuck Hossfeld ran into the back of Todd Szegedy while they were battling within the top ten and Hossfeld actually launched over the right rear quarter panel of the Szegedy car – which has major sheetmetal damage.
1:56
The skies are getting draker and there could be a weather issue here shortly.
1:56
We are at lap 62.
1:56
The caution is out for an incident involving Todd Szegedy and Chuck Hossfeld.
1:55
Ted Christopher is now leading again. Bobby Santos, III has drafted back up to second place.
1:55
Ryan Newman pulled out to make a run at the lead pack when Doug Coby threw a big block on him in the inside lane. Everyone shuffled around after that and Coby is now leading.
1:54
After some contact, Ted Christopher has moved past Bobby Santos, III for the lead. Doug Coby took advantage of the situation and moved to second while Ryan Newman progressed up to third. Santos is back to fourth.
1:54
Ted Christopher is drafting up to leader Bobby Santos, III.

1:52
Bobby Santos, III has pulled ahead to a strong lead on the restart.
1:51

1:51
Jimmy Blewett is off the track and listed as being eight laps down.
1:51
Wade Cole, Gary McDonald and Danny Knoll, Jr. are all listed one lap down.

Glenn Tyler is scored in 22nd with Johnny Bush behind him as the final cars on the lead lap.
1:50
L.W. Miller has just been reset to the 20th position will Richie Pallai moving back to the 21st position.
1:49
Positions 16th-20th are currently held by Renee Dupuis, Rowan Pennink, Jamie Tomaino, Ken Heagy and Richie Pallai, Jr.
1:48
Just outside the top 10 are Eddie Flemke, Andy Seuss, Woody Pitkat, Eric Beers and James Civali.
1:48
Bobby Santos is leading under caution over Doug Coby, Ted Christopher, Eric Goodale, Todd Szegedy, Ryan Preece, Ronnie Silk, Ryan Newman, Juston Bonsignore and Chuck Hossfeld.
1:46
George Brunnhoelzl, III has climbed out of his car under his own power after a hard wreck.
1:45
We are at lap 50.
1:45
The caution is out for a wreck by George Brunnhoelzl, III.
1:44
That was short-living. Ted Christopher sucked up to Bobby Santos’ rear bumper and those two drafted right by Doug Coby like they were standing still.
1:44
Doug Coby has moved into the lead.
1:44
Doug Coby really started aggressively bump-drafting Bobby Santos and that has allowed those two to pull away from Ted Christopher slightly.
1:43
Ted Christopher has now closed up on the top two runners.
1:43
Doug Coby is hanging right with Santos and bump-drafting the leader.
1:43
Bobby Santos has moved into the lead at lap 46.
1:42
Doug Coby has broken away into the lead with Bobby Santos moving into second.
1:42
Doug Coby and Eric Goodale are side by side into turn one after the restart. Several faster cars are jamming up behind them.
1:41
Doug Coby is now being scored the leader over Eric Goodale, Bobby Santos, Jimmy Blewett and Richie Palai. That is somewhat unofficial, but what the scoring computer is indicating.
1:40
James Civali and Ken Heagy have been sent to the rear of the field for having their pit crew come over the wall too soon.
1:40
The restart has been called off for debris on the track.
1:39
LW Miller is being scored in 18th although the field has been shuffled up by pit stops.
1:39
Comment From dale

wheres lw miller

1:39
Ted Christopher had a great pit stop and is now scored in second place. Bobby Santos, James Civali and Richie Palai rounded out the current top 10.
1:38
Eric Goodale is now leading under caution.
1:37
A total of 22 cars have pitted under caution so far including Ted Christopher, Bobby Santos, Todd Szegedy and Ryan Newman.
1:36
The cause of the caution is the stopped car of Rob Summers on the apron of the track.
1:35
The caution is out at lap 40.
1:34
Ryan Newman is now up to second place.
1:34
At lap 36, the #36 of Ted Christopher is still showing the way.
1:33
Those out of the race or in the garage area are Joe Hartmann, Erick Rudolph, Glen Reen, Mike Stefanik and Rob Fuller.
1:31
Doug Coby has drafted into the top ten.
1:31
That pack of three is now gaining on leader Ted Christopher.
1:31
Bobby Santos, Todd Szegedy and Ryan Newman are all in line in a tight draft formation for positions second through fourth.
1:30
Ryan Newman has worked his way back up to fourth on the racetrack.
1:30
Oops….more problems with scoring. Johnny Bush and Gary McDonald are shown as having an entire lap on the field. Don’t expect any full field rundowns anytime soon.
1:29
Ted Christopher is now officially listed as the leader on the timing and scoring computer again. We’re working lap 28.
1:29
Right now, the timing and scoring is somewhat suspect because Gary McDonald is shown as having a strong lead. We are very sure that he has not passed a few dozen cars to take the lead, so we’ll tell you that Ted Christopher is still out front of Bobby Santos, III and Todd Szegedy instead.
1:28
Civali is currently 23rd
1:27
Comment From steve

where is james civali running?

1:24
Ronnie Silk has just passed Andy Seuss for the sixth position.
1:23
The #05 of Joe Hartmann has pulled down pit lane under green. His car does not sound healthy at all.
1:23
Currently Ted Christopher leads Bobby Santos, Todd Sezgedy, Rob Summers, Jimmy Blewett, Andy Seuss, Ryan Preece, Chuck Hossfeld, Ronnie Silk and Ryan Newman at lap 14.
1:22
On the restart, Ted Christopher maintained his lead into turn one. Todd Szegedy is currently second with Bobby Santos, III in third.
1:19
We are ten laps into the race.
1:19
The caution has come out for the stopped car of Erick Rudolph on the apron of the track between turns three and four.
1:18
Todd Szegedy and right up there battling Ted Christopher for the lead.
1:18
Ted Christopher has dive-bombed Ryan Newman going into turn three to take the lead. Contact was made and Newman dropped back to third.
1:17
Erick Rudolph is off the pace and creeping slowly around the racetrack.
1:17
Ryan Newman maintained his lead on the restart. We’re at lap seven.
1:16
L.W. Miller will be penalized to the rear of the field after having a crew member over the wall too soon on his pit stop.
1:15
L.W. Miller has pitted under caution.
1:13
Rob Fuller is out of the car and uninjured after a hard wreck. His car will need to be towed back to the pits.
1:11
The caution is out on lap three due to Rob Fuller being parked against the outside wall. Mike Stefanik has come due pit road with heavy damage to his #16 as well.
1:10
Ryan Newman has led lap one while Bobby Santos, III has drafted back up to second.
1:10
The green flag is out and Ryan Newman has led Todd Szegedy into turn one.
1:08
Pace laps are now underway for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race.
1:06
A few short trackers have made the news in the NASCAR Nationwide Series garage. NASCAR officials have disallowed the qualifying attempt by former NASCAR Whelen All American Series National champion and East Series regular Peyton Sellers for having unapproved fuel in his fuel cell, which was reportedly a small amount from an earlier series event. This put former NASCAR East Series regular Charles Lewandoski into the field.
1:03
Richard Savary’s car is not on the starting grid today after it was withdrawn due to damage from an incident in this morning’s final practice session.
1:02
The command has been given to start engines for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour New England 100.
12:02
There were a few questions earlier today about television coverage of today’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race. So we caught up with SPEED’s Bob Dillner, who will be calling pit road during the broadcast and asked him if he had any inside information on when it would air. Dillner told us the SPEED is still working to figure out when exactly the race will air. When that information is released, you will be able to find it on Speed51.comand NASCARHomeTracks.com
11:57
In today’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour drivers’ meeting, Monadnock Speedway (NH) owner Larry Cirillo stood up and extended a welcome to the Tour teams for their pending return to the track for the first time in 17 years. The Tour will race at Monadnock on July 17th.
10:25
Although there is a chance of thunderstorms later in the afternoon and this evening in the central New Hampshire area, the weather for the time when the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race will run looks great. There is only a 10% chance of showers and the temperature right now is a comfortable 74 degrees.
10:22
NASCAR Nationwide Series qualifying is currently underway and one team hoping to make it into the field has strong ties to the NASCAR East Series. Charles Lewandoski is a former East Series regular who rose from the Late Model ranks at Stafford Motor Speedway. He is driving a car for Archie St. Hilaire’s Go Green Racing team that also fields East Series cars for Alan Tardiff. The crew chief today is Clinton Cram, who is the East Series crew chief for D.J. Shaw’s team.
10:13
Bobby Santos, III will start second in today’s Modified race and it won’t be his first event of the weekend. Last night, Santos drove his sister Erica’s Midget in the NEMA event at nearby Lee USA Speedway (NH) and placed fifth.
10:12
There was almost a little bit of Modified bump drafting a few hours before that race even is scheduled to start. As teams were coming around to push their cars into the tech line, the #68 crew of Johnny Bush was having trouble getting their car around a corner. The #36 team of Ted Christopher came up quick on them and almost didn’t back off – literally nipping at the heels of the Bush team. No contact was made though.
10:10
The #59 team of Chuck Hossfeld and the #91 team of Richard Savary are both working on their racecars after incidents in the final practice session this morning. Savary’s car is the more heavily damaged ride with extensive issues on the left side and rear end areas.
10:09
This year, the #4 Mystic Missile team of Bobby Santos, III is used to being first. They’ve won three of the four races on the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour schedule so far this season. Right now, they are first again. As the Modified Tour teams are set to go through their final inspection, Santos’ team is lined up first to go through when inspection opens up. The order isn’t by point standings either, which Santos is (you guessed it), currently first in.
9:42
We are going to step away from the keyboard right now to take a walk through the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour paddock area and talk to competitors in today’s race. We’ll be back in a short while with more updates.
9:41
There have been plenty of new photos posted to a New Hampshire Motor Speedway photo gallery that can be found on the Speed51.com Facebook page. We’ll be posting photos throughout the weekend, so be sure to check it out.
9:35
Today’s NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race is being taped for a later broadcast on SPEED. I do not have information at this time on when it will air, but it will not be live.

8:37
We have found the reason for the caution. Chuck Hossfeld’s #59 Modified is being towed down pit road after an incident on the track.
8:34
Woody Pitkat, who will line up 27th for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour race here today, won last night’s Late Model feature at Stafford Motor Speedway (CT).
8:34
The yellow flag is out again in Modified practice. From our fronstretch perch, we do not see what the cause of it is.
8:30
The green flag is back out.
8:30
There was a brief caution during Modified practice here at New Hampshire. The closed circuit television feed of the track is not up and we did not see any damaged cars or debris to explain the reason for the caution from our frontstretch vantage point.
8:22
Welcome to New Hampshire Motor Speedway where we are here today for the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour main event. Right now, the Modifieds are having their final practice session. There is currently not a timing and scoring feed for the practice session, so we currently are not able to bring you instant updates on where everyone stands. We will have practice speeds after the session is over though.
