We chatted with Burt Myers about his wheel issue. He told 51 that the wheels on his car earlier today were "a little bit wider than (track officials) wanted." Myers said it was an inconsistency with the wheel manufacturer. We asked who his wheel manufacturer was, Myers said he did not know the manufacturer of the wheels that were deemed illegal. Myers did seem optimistic about the the race tonight despite starting from the rear, stating that he will have to "put on a show."

We are judging the autograph lines from the tower and the Travis Pastrana line is hands down the longest.  Chase Elliott is a close second and several Modified drivers rival the Elliott line.

Comment From Cali Larson Fan

I'm new to following asphalt stock cars so I was shocked to see how slow the lap times are on a quarter mile. For Kyle Larson when he races out here on the sticky clay in a winged sprint car its normal to be in the 11 to 10 second per lap range on a quarter mile track! Should be like slow motion tonite for him.

One of the most anticipated short track events of the season is quickly approaching. You won’t want to miss the fourth-annual Rowdy 251 at Berlin Raceway in Marne, Michigan. NASCAR superstar Kyle Busch will be back to defend his victories in the last two “Rowdy” events, but an all-star cast of ARCA/CRA Super Series regulars, local favorites and short track gladiators from throughout the country will be out to take the title from him.

Tickets are still available for the Rowdy 251 and can be purchased in advance via the Berlin Raceway online box office at www.berlinraceway.com.

1:29
We definitely will, but the pit area is currently close for the Modifieds. A few people are milling around the Modified area, but since their practice doesn't start until 6pm, there's not much action there. Once the cars are unloaded, we will have a full list.

Comment From Justin

Can you guys try to get a list of the Modified Drivers that are there tonight, Thanks

1:28
If fans have never been to Bowman Gray Stadium before, tonight would be a great night to do it. In addition to the perfect weather we have here in Winston-Salem, NC, Adult Men tickets are just $12, while Women are just $2 tonight. Kids 6-11 are also just $2, while kids 5 and under are free. Low prices like that, plus exciting races, are two big reasons why Bowman Gray has consistently packed 15,000 fans into the grandstands here for more than 50 years.

I will catch everybody up on the Ground-Pounding Mods, if they are not watching BGS this year. Burt Myers and Tim Brown are clear cut favorites, but last week told a different story for both drivers. Burt qualified 15th and finished 12th and 7th, while on the other hand Tim Brown got the Pole and Won the 1st race and finishing 13th in the 2nd Race. With them night's last week the points are;

Under a brief yellow here in practice as SDylan Presnell had some trouble getting off the track. That kept the road to the pit area off turn three blocked with other cars trying to get pit-side and causing a traffic jam onto the backstretch. Presnell got fired back up and we're now back under green.

The weather couldn't be more perfect here in Winston-Salem, NC today. Temperatures are currently in the low-70's with Carolina blue skies dotted by big, white puffy clouds overhead. Temperatures are supposed to climb into the mid-70's and will remain quite comfortable come race time tonight. Best news of all is that there is a 0-percent chance of rain today.

Yes, rain washed out the regularly-scheduled NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Modified event her last night, but the Groundpounders will be back tonight with a 100-lap feature at the "Madhouse" following tonight's K&N East 150-lapper.

This is the second trip to Bowman Gray Stadium for the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East division. Last year, Matt DiBenedetto led all 156 laps from the outside of the front row to score the win. The race was extended for a green-white checkered finish. The race was slowed 15 times for 87 laps which made it the slowest race of the years with an average speed of 28.392 MPH.
