“I scooted underneath them and thought we were going to have a shot at the win,” said Pennink. “And I got ran into the back and shoved up into the stuff and Norm got underneath me.”

“The 99 has jerked us around a few times this year,” said Bonsignore. “I finally cross him up and make him look foolish and he just has to launch us going into one. It cost both of us a first and a second. It’s frustrating. I just want to win a race.”

Last week at the Wings ‘N’ Wheels event at the Waterford Speedbowl (CT) there was a lot of confusion regarding the VMRS red flag procedures. The confusion led to an incident involving Kevin Stuart, the car owner for Todd Szegedy. The incident, as documented on Speed51.com, led to the disqualification of Szegedy from the event.

The confusion was over whether or not teams were allowed to work on their cars during the red flag as period as some teams were doing.
