Super Late Model racers from the state of Florida and beyond will converge on New Smyrna Speedway to battle in the 11th Annual Pete Orr Memorial Orange Blossom 100 on January 19.

The Orr Memorial, which honors a short track legend in the Sunshine State, has long been one of the most prestigious SLM races in Florida. Kyle Larson, noted by many racing insiders as the “next big thing” in NASCAR, won last year’s event and this year even more drivers will be out to etch their name on the Orr Memorial trophy. The race will also be the second of three rounds in the 2013 FASCAR Triple Crown series.

Can Stephen Nasse extend his Triple Crown point lead after winning the series opener, the Red-Eye 100? Or will another Florida hotshot or an invader from outside the state steal the show?

3:12

Some of the top short track racers in the country will make the trip to Cordele for the annual event that has become one of the most anticipated events in all of short track racing. NASCAR standout and hometown hero David Ragan will try to hold off some of Super Late Model racing’s best in the ARCA/CRA Super Late Model 200-lap portion of SpeedFest 2013, while defending race winner Chase Elliott and a slew of others will all be out to be the first JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour winner of the new season. It’s a race that fans won’t want to miss.

The #1 Arena car driven by Scott Quaal drove into turn 4 a little to hard and flipped his car onto it’s roof. Safety crew was to the car immediately. The driver is fine and the car was flipped back onto all 4 wheels and pushed off the track.
2:36
The indoor arena racing does not have all of the bells and whistles that come with outdoor racing for scoring. As I mentioned before as soon as qualifying is over and we can get a hold of final qualifying results we will be sure to pass them along

All go-kart qualifying has been canceled due to the slippery track conditions. Spots will be decided by draw.

Lawn Mowers Modifieds / Stocks are now on the track to Qualify.
2:13
No they are not.

Comment From PeteR

Are the Stanley kids you mentioned earlier related to the late Robbie Stanley, a great USAC driver from IN who died in a crash at Winchester and whose family runs a Quarter Midget parts and chassis company in NC?

2:12
Due to the slick conditions on the track qualifying for 360 Animals/360 Flat heads and Clones qualifying has been canceled and heat race positions will be done by drawing.
2:09
Drivers have given the official thumbs up and we will go back to qualifying. 360 Animals/360 Flat heads and Clones will start from the very start of qualifying giving all drivers the same fresh track advantage.
2:06
Tim Neal and Phil Bozell are on the race track to scuff up the new syrup and get some loose rubber to create some better grip.
2:03
The fluid that was laid on the track caused the track to become slippery. Promoter Jack Gritter is applying more of the syrup that is used on the track to create it’s sticky surface

A little information about our go-kart purple plate fast qualifier
in 2012 9 yr old Samuel Crawford had
8 – feature wins, 7 – 2nd place finishes, 3 – 3rd place finishes, 16 – heat wins, and attended 3 different race tracks
1:53
360 flat head driver #51 Austin Long blew a motor and leaked fluid all the way around the race track. There has been a pause in the action while track crew hurrys to clean the track. Clean up is done quite a bit different with indoor racing and it takes a little bit longer to dry the fluid on the track
1:49
Scott Menlen just informed us the the 360-Animals/360 Flat heads fast time/Clones will all be racing together. They will all be racing together. However, they will still receive their points and pay for their own division.

Something a little different for our viewers of short track racing throughout the country as we are in the “Great White North” in the month of January with snow on the ground and cold temperatures. However that’s not the case inside Kellogg Arena as a 1/10th (0.100) mile concrete flat oval awaits 17 divisions who will tackle the indoors arena oval this afternoon and into the evening.
