This just in… A local driver, the #10 Bomber driven by Charles Lathan has struck several Pro Late Models in the impound lot.  Sources tell Speed 51 that the car’s throttle got stuck and broke.  The team started the car and it took off in reverse toward the impound lot, striking a number of cars.  No injuries have been reported and we have a reporter gather more information.

Also not racing tonight is Hal Martin.  His return to Mobile Speedway was much anticipated.  He was a regular here from 2006-2009.  In 2011, Martin drove for Venturini Motorsports for five races in the ARCA Series.  Unfortunately, Martin’s return to Mobile has been sidelined after damage recieved last night at Pensacola during a restart accident.

This just in, race control has informed Speed 51 that Joe Aramendia has loaded up and will not race tonight.

POLLARD’S WIN STREAK

Bubba Pollard is undoubtably the driver to beat at Mobile International Speedway.  Five of his 10 wins this season have come at Mobile and he is working on eight in a row, dating back to 2010.

“We’re pretty good at this place for right now,” said Pollard.  “It can go away just as quickly as it came.  It’s hard to win races these days, especially seven a row at one track but it sure is pretty cool right now.”

HAMRAC GIVE HELPING HAND

Third in points, Donnie Hamrac would love to be racing tonight, however, a back injury suffered earlier in the year has side-lined the driver for now.  In the meantime, he is working with his team and a new driver to Mitch Smith Racing… young Jake Moore.  Moore finished a respectable 10th last night in Pensacola.
