That will conclude our coverage of today’s 36th Annual Labor Day Classic from Thunder Road Int’l Speedbowl in Barre, Vermont. Thank you to everyone who stayed with us through the rain yesterday and returned here today.

Congratulations to Nick Sweet on his second career Labor Day Classic victory and Derrick O’Donnell on his back-to-back Thunder Road “King of the Road” championships.

We’ll be back with more ACT Late Model coverage on September 20 for the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Have a good night, everyone.

Nick Sweet on his win here today and coming up just short of the championship:

“We did everything we could do today,” said Sweet. “I wish we could have been just a little bit better for some of those weekly shows. We had consistency. I think we finished out of the top-10 once. Derrick was just a little bit better than us this year.

“Next year, I’m just going to have to come back and try to put on a show again. We’re going to try to win that one next year. It’s starting to hit home not winning those championships.”

5:08
Derrick O’Donnell on his back to back championships:

“It’s crazy,” said O’Donnell. “I’m just so glad it’s over with. It’s been a long year and what a long race to end it with. We definitely had a pretty good car, so I’m grateful that we ended up here.”
