Follow-up on Jake Griffin, earlier before qualifying, he had a hole in his oil pan. DeWaine McGunegill of McGunegill Racing Engines told me that he took an empty Mountain Dew can and some epoxy to cover up the hole. Crew didn’t think it would last, and Griffin came home with a third place finish.
