I have raced one time at Caraway before with the Pro Challenge Series. I wrecked out early on in the race, but I really enjoyed testing here and had qualified third. It was a couple years ago, but I remember it being a fun track to run on. I always enjoyed quick tracks with some banking.

Comment From Upside Down Turtle

I see that Meghan Dillner is doing Trackside Now this evening. Has she ever raced at Caraway before (I know she has run a lot of tracks in the Carolinas in Pro Challenge and Late Model cars)? If so, what’s this track like to drive?

7:31
C’mon down Twisty…we’ll get you in one of those things and you’ll wear ’em out like you have at Thunder Road and Oxford back in the day!
7:29
Comment From Twisty

I love the looks of those Super Mini Trucks. Not sure what they have for an engine rule, but they look a lot like the Mini Trucks that race at Oxford up up in Maine and the “Mighty Trucks” that run at Beech Ridge. Lots of fun and low cost to run as far as racing goes. I ran in those classes for a few years and had a great time. I’d love to run one at Caraway!

Brian Loftin will make his return to the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour today. Loftin has not entered a tour race since the season opener here at Caraway back in March. After winning the pole and leading a large portion of the race, Loftin was taken out in a late race altercation. A short few days later, his wife tragically passed away in a car accident. Loftin has run well in several races at Bowman Gray Stadium since then, and if his last run at Caraway means anything, we expect to see him in the front of the field today.
2:03
Some changes since the series last raced in late April:

Burt Myers is back after sustained a rib injury in mid-April
Tim Brown has a new crew chief in Tommy Lythgoe
Andy Seuss is now in the #11 ride. Former driver Zach Brewer could not find a ride.
Brian Loftin is back for the first time since his wife was tragically lost in a March car accident
Corey LaJoie makes his second career start. He is 1-for-1 on the series, having won in Atlanta in 2010
