We spoke to CRA officials who confirmed that Brian Campbell did not pass tech on his first attempt. When Campbell returned to the tech line the allotted time to clear tech had passed. Campbell would have been given only one lap for the infraction and decided to call it a day.

Campbell did not want to elaborate any more on the situation other then the reason he gave.

While other drivers like Cardell Potter, Jonathan Eilen and Ali Kern all got one lap they each made it into the show.

“We know she’s really happy and was really wishing she had gotten that second lap,” said a crew member for Ali Kern about her emotion.

“It’s a nice feeling for sure. I wish we hadn’t broken the shifter that kept us from getting in tech line in time,” said Cardell Potter.
“That felt really good for one lap,” said Jonathan Eilen. “Hopefully all our bad luck is behind us after having that clutch problem.”
