Brian Campbell told us this is the first time he has ever won the season opening race in CRA competition. Campbell is running for CRA points and will head to Anderson, Indiana as the point leader with lots of momentum. The Anderson Speedway has never been kind to Campbell, but his motivation after this win could help him improve for the April 26th race.

Nathan Haseleu sixth and Steven Wallace eighth will be hungry for their next chance at a victory in the ARCA Midwest Touring Series race on Sunday and Monday May 25th & 26th at Illiana Motor Speedway for the Calypso Lemonade Border Wars II 150.

Veteran driver Scott Hantz who has numerous wins at Toldeo Speedway as well as many other tracks, seems to be struggling today in practice. He is currently 23rd and almost a half a second off of the pace that has been set by Campbell.

With less than 30 minutes remaining some of the teams are bolting on sticker tires and doing mock runs. With 40 plus cars here and the top 20 locked into the 150, some are focused on their qualifying setup. Those who are confident that they will be in the top 20 are working on their race trim, especially on old tires since this is a four-tire race.

For today’s 7-Up 150, this will be a four-tire race. All 150 laps will be green flag. There will be a break after lap 75. During the break they can add fuel, make adjustments, and swap tires. The same four tires must be on the car at the end of the race. If a car has a tire going down, it must be approved by an official before the change is made.
