For the last year here on the panhandle we have talked about “the big three” Johanna Long, Augie Grill, and Bubba Pollard. Those three won all 10 of the Gulf Coast Championship Series events in 2009 and the first of 2010. The 11 race win streak came to an end when Jeff Fultz won at Mobile in April now it looks as if it may be fair game on “the big three” with the likes of Chase Elliott, Mike Garvey, Josh Hamner and several others mixing it up this year in the Gulf Coast Championship Series.
2:48
Last night 14 Super Late Models were here taking laps in preparation for the Papa John’s 100. Unofficially we learned that Johanna Long was the fastest car. We also want to wish Johanna a happy 18th Birthday as her birthday was on Wednesday.

A great story sometimes comes with tragedy. We are happy to report that David Rogers is back with us today after a horrific wreck here in April which totally destroyed his racecar. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the TM Ranch team and to the Holland Family. At the same it’s good to see Rogers racing here this weekend.
