The ASA Midwest Truck Tour competed at State Park Speedway back on July 31, 2011 as part of the Larry Detjens Memorial weekend. Ty Majeski won the event over Chris Wimmer and Jerry Wood.

Last year, the ASA Midwest Tour made their first visit to State Park Speedway on Friday, June 24, 2011 for the Flip Merwin Memorial 150. Mark Mackesy held off Andrew Morrissey and Jacob Goede for the win.

The ASA Midwest Tour will have a 125-lap feature event. The ASA Midwest Truck Tour will also have their season opener today with a 50-lap event. SPS’s Super Stocks, Pure Stocks, Mini Mods and Mini Stocks are also in action tonight.

This is the season opener for State Park Speedway. It is the third season that the Wimmer family is operating the facility. In 2010, Ron & Scott Wimmer purchased the facility and made it one of the premier entertainment facilities in the Wausau area. They are expecting a great crowd tonight and have shuttle buses ready at various locations in Wausau to bring fans to the track.

This is the second event of the 2012 season schedule for the ASA Midwest Tour Super Late Models. Last Saturday, defending Series Champion Andrew Morrissey collected his first ASAMT win as he held off Skylar Holzhausen for the victory.
